I think it could be a character that was
based off of linguini, but he, anything is possible. He does look really close to him.
The Star Swordsman - Indeed. That is a possiblity.
Either than, or it is the other way around: the farmer in the short was used as a sort of “test model”
for Linguini.

rather hilarious short, I must say. The theater was crackin’ up, and I was laughing pretty hard myself. Great
stuff!

Lifted was
hysterical. I was laughing my butt off throughout, and especially at the end
I thought the farmer dude
was Linguini, but I saw him up closer for a small moment and he has black hair, not red. 
The Star Swordsman - Heh – well, now that I look back at it, I suppose I could have mistaken him for Linguini’s brother or something. 
FONY - Dude, it was hilarious. Best part in the whole film:
[spoil]When the little alien guy is “pinballing” the farmer all around the house.[/spoil]
Ah, but there were so many other hilarious moments besides that one! Heck, the whole thing was great!
And the farmer has black hair? Gee whiz – I’ll have to look at that again…
I thought the best part (other than the ending and the sound clip in the credits) was [spoil]when he actually got it RIGHT for two seconds and then proceeded to screw it up … before the controls were taken away from him hahaha[/spoil]. Great short though … I don’t know if it’s the best, but it’s so easy to relate to, that’s for sure. 
I love how theres very little talking through out the entire thing.
Mitch: now that ya mention it, when i go watch Lifted, I just might confuse the boy and Linguini myself. I’ll have to tell myself in the back of my head that it isn’t him though.
Mitch: Yeah- [spoil]look in the background when the alien brings the farmer up into the ship, right before he proceeds to drop him back to earth[/spoil] Couldn’t keep my eyes off the dude because I had to find out if he was Linguini or not, lol! It started to bug me, but as soon as I saw the hair I knew.
All I have to say is that Lifted is now tied for my favorite Pixar short. My other favorite is One Man Band, of course!
JesusFreak: Lol, same for me! One Man Band was my fave before, but now it’s tied. Comedy-wise, no, but I still love One Man Band.
I think One Man Band may be the one time in which a Pixar short was clearly better than the Pixar movie it was attached to. =P
Actually Dash, you might like it better than the movie, but i like them both equally, which is usually bad. Often times, i love the movie better than the short.

I am crazy for Boundin. it places n the top five of my favorite shorts list. I think lifted might sneek in at the number six spot. Just a prediction.
