The Smurfs. I think i’ve made my reasons for this being overrated right there.
It holds 21% in Rotten Tomatoes. And everyone says it’s awful.
Hardly overrated.
I’d say Avatar. Even though it has good visuals and a good soundtrack, there’s nothing else special about it.
Same here. Only difference is that I didn’t enjoy the soundtrack, so it was even less special to me.
I was just thinking about that. An overrated film is a film that everyone loves and is highly rated, but you think doesn’t deserve the attenion.
Am I allowed to say that some Pixar films are thus overrated, as much as I love them? ![]()
To me, one of the most overrated films is The Wizard of Oz.
Granted, it was a technical achievement for that time, and I get the praise, but I don’t think the movie is much more than that.
Sorry, I know there are always huge fans of it.
^ I feel the same way seen the movie 100 times with my mom nothing special about it to me.
Yes. I also think the soundtrack is overrated. Some good cues, but I’ve heard it contains the “best film songs ever”, which is an opinion I don’t share one little bit.
I have to disagree with that one.
The movie had a political message in there and had a lot of heart as well. It was a great movie and timless classic.
Another movie overrated though is ET. It looked beautiful but there wasn’t much there otherwise.
Now it’s my turn to disagree ![]()
To me, E.T. is a masterpiece.
Lol. Nice we both disagreed with each other’s chocies.
ET looked nice and I saw it yung and thought I’d love it, but it felt boring.
I might watch it again and see if I was too young to apperciate it or if I was right but yur not the only person who thinks its a materpeice.
Which Ones? (popping knuckles)
Up…runs and hides…
Pixar can be over rated, no movie studio is perfect.
Phew! No need to run and hide after all. ![]()
Ah ok DefineDancing, you can be spared. I haven’t seen Up yet.
Oh, it’s a brilliant film and it’s heartwarming, but a lot of people I know think it’s their best work and I disagree. It just feels very disjointed and I find some of the characters rather annoying.
I agree. I’m glad Gone With the Wind won the Oscar instead!
Oh, yes. I cringe every time I read Oz was snugged that year ![]()
