Do you also hate Batman Begins? I’ve just read your rants about The Dark Knight.
And I wouldn’t fight against a good movie just because I don’t like it. Simply don’t see it, but let the rest of the world have their prize

My in-cinema viewings:
So while it might look like I spent a lot of money, in reality, I’m quite frugal! Although I forked out a quarter of a hundred to see the Australian premiere of KFP2 next week, and I’m planning to see Cars 2 in IMAX.
I also saw Season of the Witch and Big Momma’s House: Like Father, Like House at my friend’s place, but they weren’t very memorable.
I want to watch The Lizzie McGuire Movie again, or at least parts of it.
Dang, you’ve seen a lot! Lucky! I’m so jealous that your reviews allowed you to see so many movies! And you’ll love KFP 2, I know it!
Here’s what I’ve seen in the theaters so far in 2011.
Rango (twice)
The Fighter
Thor
Rio (Twice. I wanted to see it a thrid time, but never got around to it)
Kung Fu Panda 2
Bridesmaids
X-Men First Class
I can’t remember if I’ve seen True Grit and The Kings Speech at the beginning of the year or at the end of last year.
Great set of movies! Which was your favorite? I take it that it’s Rango or Rio since you saw it twice?
Super 8
They did a secret nationwide release today and I went to see Super 8. And if you liked stuff like Goonies, Poltergeist, ET, or Close Encounters you’ll love this. You don’t even have to see Super 1 through 7.
I can’t say much about the film without spoiling it. But if you’ve been looking for a throwback to the sort of coming of age sci-fi adventure film from yesteryear this is just right for you. I’ve already stated this but it needed to be said again.
Also have a taste of the great score. It’s so catchy and hummable.
I can’t wait to properly review this.
Beastly: F: I…did not like this. The end.
True Grit(2010): A: Well, everyone knows this is good. I don’t know what else to say. I’m brain dead.
Evan Almighty: B: It was funny, and I liked the part about getting opportunities to change, not being given change.
Yes Man: C: Eh, some parts were funny. Not much else going on.
My dad rented The Fighter and Legend of the Guardians as well as True Grit!! I’m so excited.
I know that you said Evan Almighty, but I want to take this post to mention that I hate Bruce Almighty, which I know is a different film from the one you were talking about. But Bruce Almighty was not funny…I mean, they used sound gags I find disgusting, plus a monkey coming out of a place that’s nasty…and something unexplained that they should’ve taken out if they weren’t going to explain it…and the stupid business with the dog…every scene with the dog is awful, and then Jennifer Aniston’s fake crying about wanting to be with her boyfriend but not understanding him…that was terrible acting on her part. Then the awful songs they parodied the titles of…and so many other bad things about thtat movie that I feel I would have been better off not seeing it.
Also, legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole comes from an amazing book series.
Super 8: B+
Definitely was my most anticipated movie of the year, but I can’t tell if I was underwhelmed or not. I feel like the movie [spoil]would’ve been so much better without the monster; the character conflicts were great, but overall I felt a little bored with the monster parts, although they were still somewhat interesting (I thought the monster design was a little generic though). In addition, the ending [spoil]was terrible and completely out of nowhere[/spoil]. Still, definitely worth seeing in theaters.
Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders From Mars: The Motion Picture (long titles ftw!) - Very nice! Ziggy’s shocking story was a pivotal point in conceptual rock history, and the performances are great. A necessity for Bowie fans.
Now, onto find a place to watch Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence finally!
Legend of the Guardians:B: I didn’t exactly love this movie, and was bored/confused for a lot of it, but I think it was okay.
The Fighter: A: Wow! I love this movie. Christian Bale was awesome in this! He was very funny -to me-.
Today I wactched Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets and Toy Story (1995)
Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets.- too kiddie, but much better than the first film, I also used to loved it years ago, now it’s just average (this film has a lot to do with Harry Potter 7.1) B-
Toy Story.- what can I tell you about this one, a real masterpice, the very first film, nothing compares to it, thanks Pixar) A+
Everyone should watch a Mary-Kate and Ashley movie today to celebrate their twenty-fifth birthday.
Virginia, of course Legend of the Guardians was confusing…they tried to stuff three books into one movie…and it’s not as easy to do with something like that, as opposed to A Series of Unfortunate Events, which technically should have five movies, but only has one…
Oh, that explains it. Well, anyway, I’m not so sure I liked Legend of the Guardians or not. I thought it would be so much better.
I saw X-Men: First Class last night. Aside from some awkward or mildly disturbing moments, I found it to be thoroughly engaging and well-written.
Really? That’s good. I’m not really interested in it, because it is devoid of Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan and Wolverine. I know they couldn’t have Stewart as Xavier in this movie, but…he was part of the reason I love XMen and X2.
Actually… Oh, that would be a spoiler…
I watched X-Men FC last weekend and it was pretty good, but not the greatness thing ever made, that honor still belongs to The Dark Knight
Horus: Prince of the Sun: B+ - It didn’t completely hold my interest at all points, but it is undoubtedly a classic of Japanese cinema and animation, with some truly fantastic scenes of action and character development.
