Since I posted that list, I saw Super 8. And so far thats my favorite movie. But before I saw Super 8, I would have to go with Rio. It’s gets a slight edge over Rango because of the music and the setting.
I watched Requiem for a Dream and Mala Noche last night. I LOVED Requiem for a Dream. I’ve been putting off seeing this movie for a long time. The best and most heartbreaking part of the movie for me was the conversating between Sara and Harry at the dinner table. I really felt so sad for her throughout this movie. It was so hard for me to see Jennifer Connelly go on a downward spiral because I think she is the most beautiful actress in Hollywood today. As far as Mala Noche, I thought it was…interesting.
It is available on IMDB to watch here, it’s through Hulu though so US residents only, sadly (and there are a few commercial breaks). Hope you enjoy it!
I saw this last week for the first time, and I thought the same thing. The beginning was interesting, but then it was just kinda like a normal average movie for me. It was definitely pretty though, visual-wise
Yeah, I agree about the overall consensus on Legend of the Guardians…it was a pretty movie and I enjoyed seeing it, but it was so sloppily structured and could’ve been so much better!
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest - Not the first time I saw this movie, and it’s still one of my favorite movies. Jack is a fantastic actor in this, and the movie gets to your emotions. One of those movis everyone should see, imo.
127 Horus- It’s about time I saw this! I really enjoyed it. I was wondering how they could do a movie about a man standing in the same place the entire time. It was done beautifuly. I am a VERY queezy person when it comes to gore, so I got freaked out a few times. And the [spoil]scooby doo watching him while laughing part[/spoil]scared the bajeebers out of me! I give it a B.
I like how you mentioned the fact about making a movie about someone standing in one place. There are some movies like that, and I like a lot of them, cause usually they have a strong script to make up the lack of locations and characters.
Exactly! And another thing about 127 Hours is that you know what’s going to happen, and what the climax will be. But how they get to that point and treat the event is what is curious to the person walking into the theatre.
Slumdog Millionaire: B: This movie was pretty interesting. Not sure what the big deal is, but I’ll see it again to decide.
Sanctum: D: Wow. I thought this was going to be science fiction, but I couldn’t have been more wrong! It was a drama. And a downer. And personally, I think Carl and Victoria especially are the 2 most annoying movie characters of all time.
Michael Clayton: B: Well, this movie was cool and suspenseful. I was thoroughly confused, but that’s what I get for seeing it at midnight in the living room with all the lights off.
The Sentinel:A: This movie was amazing!I loved the acting, the plot, and the wondering what was next. I just wish Pete had [spoil]married the first lady, and that she had divorced the president. The lost romance disappointed me a lot.[/spoil]
Doubt it. I think there’s a legal thing, where a movie company teams up with a movie channel, then that channel shows all that movie company’s available films.
I’m seeing Race to Witch Mountain(2009) tonight. Not exactly excited for that…
