Movies - both new and old

Despicable Me: D
Note: Sorry to any of you fans of the movie out there.
I did not like this movie. I felt it was another one of those trying too hard to be funny movies. I found myself seeing the “villain” as nothing but a dork with a bunch of gadgets. I disliked the Minions. A lot. However, I didn’t hate all of it. I will say that I was going “Awwwwww” inside during some of the moments with Gru and the girls.
So, overall, I didn’t like it, but it was sweet at parts, and it’s definitely not the worst I’ve seen.

I enjoyed Despicable Me, but I understand your opinion completely  I wholeheartedly agree about the movie trying too hard to be funny and “quotable”. That bothered me a bit. Practically every decent joke was repeated a million times before the movie was even out thanks to the trailers! And the Minions are…annoying.

Cars 2- I’ve made my opinion clear on other boards. I give it a C+. I’m much more kind than most critics.

I was watching Speed Racer once again, only to see how critics bashed and hated this one years ago, seems that Cars 2 is having the same fate.

Didn’t like the movie that much didn’t ya EJE?

I’m sorry you were disappointed, Kenzie. I hate it when I get so excited for a movie, then when I see it, the magic just isn’t there.

I really wished I liked it more. I really do. I’m going to rewatch it, and hopefully I’ll have a different opinion on the second viewing.

I’m gonna watch it this sunday with one of my best friends.

nice plan, I hope you like it

Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince.- For me, this film is one of the worst in the series, pretty boring until the final act, too much love story behind the characters, however this movie made me love Hermione and Snape even more…my favorite characters

I think the worst is, by far, Order of the Phoenix, which I saw yesterday.

Half-Blood Prince is slow, granted, but so is the book, and at least David Yates seemed to pick a trick or two in movie direction the first time around and had a better style for HBP.

Unlike you, I think the final act is the worst part of HBP. For a film where not much happens, why would they remove a pretty good battle as the one that happens at the end of the book? Same with [spoil]Dumbledore’s funeral.[/spoil]

Slumdog Millionaire- I finally saw this. I really enjoyed it! I liked the flashbacks, and the story as well. I give it an A

The narrative in that film is excellent, if based on a series of very convenient coincidences. Now I want to see it again! 8D

I loved that movie. Call me crazy, but I loved it so much more than WALL-E when it came out that year.

I liked Slumdog Millionaire, but it was kind of slow and confusing. That’s what I get for seeing it on television at 3 AM. 8D But I’m sure I wouldn’t like it as much as Wall-E anyway.

WALL-E was definitely my favorite movie of 2008!

Same. Then Kung Fu Panda. Wall-E isn’t my favorite Pixar film, but it really hit something special for me. It’s a major land mark in Pixar’s filmography for me, if not in general.

Im gonna watch Cars 2 with my friend on Sunday. I can’t wait for it.

^ That’s awesome! I hope you guys enjoy it!

Thanks. I hope I do too.

I don’t think I’m going to be able to see Cars 2 until next week
