Movies - both new and old

Bruno- LOL That movie is so hilarious, yet so wrong and disgusting. I loved it! I give it an A, mostly for shock value and Baron-Cohen deserves it, I’m suprised he wasn’t killed at some parts!

Adam & Steve - This movie was very silly, but fun to watch! It’s a boy-meet-boy story I give it a B-

The Jungle Book: A
Very good. My mom’s always said how much she liked it, so I tried it out, and I like it a lot, too. Too bad the DVD’s about 50 dollars. Stupid Disney Vault. :stuck_out_tongue:

Cool, I love The Jungle Book! Yeah, I wish the Disney Vault wouldn’t make them so expensive. :frowning: I can never find them at a good price! Hence why I still have all my old VHS tapes. 8D

Ah yes, The Jungle Book! It’s one of my favorites! Bagheera’s my favorite character!

He’s my favorite too! He’s the serious one.

I love The Jungle Book, too. Easily one of my top 5 non Renaissance Disney movies.

P.S. Here is my Cars 2 review, and there’s only one spoiler!! Well, it’s hardly a spoiler. You should have expected that. But, I spoilered it just in case.

Cars 2: I just saw this with my family and Glenn last night. I’ll still see it on the 9th, but my family can’t come on the 9th, so we all saw it last night.

My honest to God opinion: 9/10

Yeah, I kind of sort of loved this movie. I loved the espionage, the action, Holley, Finn, the Mater/Holley fling, gosh. I just loved it. Sally [spoil]wasn’t there much, but she annoyed me in the first movie, so hey, it’s all good.[/spoil] Francesco was awesome! But, I’ve liked John Turturro in all the few movies I’ve seen him in, so no surprise. After I resee it on the 9th, I’ll write a decent review. 8D

I’m glad you liked the movie IV.

Great! I’m happy you enjoyed it IV!

Due Date- This movie is from the Director of The Hangover. And while it’s not as good as The Hangover, it’s still a funny and entertaining movie. It’s full of laughs and hijinks! I give it a B.

The Tree of Life: Not really sure what grade I’d give this, but probably somewhere in the B’s.
Overall, it’s worth seeing just because it tried to do something different, plus the cinematography was amazing. But half the time it felt like it was forcingly pretentious. The surreal aspects at the beginning and end of the movie felt out of place, but would’ve been great in a separate movie IMO. The story of the family grabbed me a lot more, although most of the characters aren’t really that interesting. Overall I felt like the movie tried to accomplish too much with the whole formation of the universe/spiritual themes, but only achieved some of that. Still, it needs to be seen on the big screen to be fully appreciated, so I would recommend it.

Been awhile since I’ve gone into this thread. I think the last one I actually graded was Hanna.

Rio - A-
Left me smiling at the end. Overchaotic at times, but otherwise a funny, lightweight animated feature with some good musical numbers.

Fast Five - A-
Fantastic action sequences, good humor, and great chemistry among the cast. Was a lot of fun.

Thor - A-
Hemsworth inhabits title role with ease. Great effects and set design, romance subplot a little rote.

Bridesmaids - B+
Funny and surprisingly thoughtful comedy brought down a bit by an irritating side character.

Kung Fu Panda 2 - B-
Ultimately disappointing. Tries to fit too much in too short a time resulting in an unsatisfying experience, despite well-choreographed action sequences.

X-Men: First Class - A-
Slightly cheesy, but enhanced by a solid story and great lead acting.

Super 8 - C
Mostly entertaining suburban drama/monster thriller ruined by a lousy payoff on both ends.

Midnight in Paris - A-
A bit indulgent, but never less than entertaining once it gets into its main conceit (I won’t spoil it).

Cars 2 - C-
A mess of a film in just about every aspect except animation. Disjointed, emotionally hollow, and gets increasingly moronic as it goes.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon - B+
An undoubted improvement over its predecessor, Transformers 3 has a more coherent narrative, better action sequences, less annoying characters, and funnier humor but still occasionally suffers from unnecessary padding.

I want to write a longer review of Cars 2, but I can’t. 8D I have to see it again to get rid of my “first viewing” cloudiness. Personally, I prefer it to the original Cars, which I didn’t expect at all.

I’m scared. I’m expecting to like it better than the original. I hope it’s not that disappointing.

Today I watched Due Date and Cars 2.

Oh, I’m glad you’re beginning to warm up to Cars 2

Hobo With a Shotgun:D: Okay, so this is probably one of the worst movies ever. 8D But, it gets bonus points for being funny.

Iron Man 2:b: I really liked this one a lot. But I prefer the first one.

Red Riding Hood: F: Hate this movie. Hate.
