They’re not perfect, but I really like them both, especially the music and settings.
Are there any other famous Disney classic movies you haven’t watched yet?
Go see Alice in Wonderland! It holds a very special place for me as the first film I ever saw.
My dad found a deal at Barnes and Noble and he got us three new movies!! ![]()
He got Captain Blood, Strangers on a Train, and Suspicion. We’ve watched the first two, and hopefully we’ll watch Suspicion later this week.
Well, not really any of the really famous ones, although there are ones like Dumbo & Fantasia that I haven’t seen in about 10 years. My goal is to eventually see all of them. ![]()
Awesome! Me too.
I still need to see The Sword in the Stone and some others.
Forgot to mention these—
Metropolis (2001, not the Fritz Lang movie) - Wow, this might be the most underrated movie ever. Gorgeous, detailed animation, well-designed futuristic setting juxtaposed with blues and jazz (which reminds me a bit of WALL-E), and the ending scene with the Ray Charles song…that was amazing! I cried ![]()
Interstella 5555 - Really fun, cartoony movie, I’m not much for electronic/house music but it made me like Daft Punk! I quite enjoy Leiji Matsumoto’s character designs too. I wish there were more album-synced movies like this, it’s awesome and I’m always so visual when listening to music anyway…
Three Men and a Baby: It was okay, a bit cheesy though, so I give it an average rating at 5.5/10.
I wanna get both of those on blu ray. I’ve only seen a little piece of Fantasia. The problem with getting Fantasia is that I waited to long to get it and now it’s seventy dollars on amazon! I waited to long to get Sleeping Beauty and I had to pay fifty for it at the being of the year.
I’m going to see Searching for Sugar Man tomorrow. I can’t wait.
I’m really excited about the new movie Frankenweenie. I just found some short interviews from the actors, and now I’m even more excited.
Men In Black 3: I thought it was pretty decent, it had a story that kept me interested and while still flawed was better than I expected.
6/10.
Okay, has anyone seen Robocop? I haven’t but I’ve heard it’s a really good action flick. Is it worth watching?
Yes, I’ve seen all three.
Honestly, I don’t even like the first one, which is the best of the bunch.

The first is considered the ONLY good one. Some dislike the second and most HATE the third.
Exactly, that’s why I say I don’t EVEN like the first.
I’ve been trying to work on an original novel that takes place during World War II, so I’ve been digging for some films that I could watch that aren’t super violent and gory. Please don’t laugh - I honestly have the weakest stomach in the world. ![]()
I stumbled upon the 1956 film A Man Escaped (Un condamné à mort s’est échappé) by the French director Robert Bresson. It was based on memoirs of a former member of the French Resistance who managed to escape from a Nazi prison. What made this film interesting to me is how you already know the ending, but the entire film still manages to be interesting and engaging throughout despite that fact.
It wasn’t necessarily a spectacular film by any means, but I still thought it was a lovely little gem and will probably watch it again with my sister. ![]()
little chef
I watched Un condamné à mort s’est échappé about two weeks ago. I really liked it, and thought it was interesting how they didn’t try to give the true story any kind of romanticism.
Searching for Sugar Man What an amazing story. I loved how humble Rodriguez remained after finding out just how famous he is in South Africa.
Millions I had a good time watching this one. I was curious what a family movie from Danny Boyle would be like. It was funny, exciting and surprisingly touching.
Bonnie & Clyde Warren Beatty and Faye Dunnaway’s chemistry was incredible in this movie. I enjoyed seeing them together (after all the violence died down) so much that by the end I wanted them to not get caught and live happily ever after in a quite existence in the country.
End of Watch One of my favorite movies I’ve seen in the theater this year. What made this movie so special was the friendship the two cops had. And it’s always a joy for me to see Anna Kendricks in a movie.
I watched Total Recall on SyFy last night. No, not the remake with Colin Farell but the original with Arnold Schwarzenegger. For the most part, I really enjoyed it. Although the plot seemed confusing at first, I got the idea of it later on. There was plenty of enjoyable action sequences and of course alot of violence (which I’m ashamed to admit I like alot of in my movies). Overall, I thought it was really good, and a sci-fi classic in it’s own right. I couldn’t really care less about the remake, I’m tired of Hollywood remaking old classics when they’re best left the way they are. No remake can top what I saw last night.
I’ve recorded a bunch of other films to watch for later nights which are the first Terminator, Carlito’s Way and Full Metal Jacket. I’ll tell you all my opinions on them when I’m finished seeing them.
I saw the movie Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. I loved it, I don’t usually like movies like that, but this one was an exception. It had a great cast and a great storyline.
I tried watching Carlito’s Way last night on ITV4. For some reason though, I just couldn’t get into it. Didn’t seem to be enough action or violence in it. I was really tired so I just ended up turning it off. I expected better from Al Pacino and the director of Scarface (Brian De Palma). It was okay I guess.
The Terminator however, that I watched on Thursday night was incredible. I hope to see Terminator 2: Judgement Day some time.

I love Carlito’s Way. I don’t know if that or Scent of a Women is my second favorite Al Pacino movie. My favorite is Dog Day Afternoon.
I saw the Terminator for the first time two months ago. I loved every minute of it. I can’t wait to watch the rest of the movies.
