Movies - both new and old

I saw a commercial of that on TV today. I really want to see it.

I just watched Beowulf last night. I found it really enjoyable. The motion capture in that film is fantastic, as well as the lighting. I paticularly enjoyed Crispin Glover’s performance.

Yeah so I’ve watched three movies that I haven’t seen the ending to, yet.

Midsummer Night’s Dream: because I lost interest and it wouldn’t end - past 2:30 am. :open_mouth:

Brokeback Mountain: Watched it too late and went into early in the morning.

Titus: same reason

I just watched Brokeback because I’ve been wanting to for a while, but then I got a copy of Titus, and have been itching to watch it, so I did. I’m becoming quite the Shakespeare nut ever since I’m starting to understand what they’re saying.

I just saw Bella for the first time - it is one of the most touching movies I have ever seen. I can’t believe it didn’t earn more at the box office. From me, it is totally recommended.
I nearly cried at the end. If you tear up easy, I suggest having a box of tissues by your side.

Firefly: What’s Bella? I’ve never heard of it …

Anyway, I finished watching Titus, and it is love though it is gory … I think I’m starting to understand and appreciate Shakespeare even more. :sunglasses:

FONY - Basically it is…aw, I’ll just give you the summary.

An international soccer star is on his way to sign a multi-million dollar contract when something happens that brings his career to an abrupt end. A waitress, struggling to make it in New York City, discovers something about herself that she’s unprepared for. In one irreversible moment, their lives are turned upside down…until an impetuous action brings them together and turns an ordinary day into an unforgettable experience. Once a famous athlete, and now a cook at his brother’s Mexican restaurant, José has retreated from the world but he recognizes something in Nina, a young waitress, and reaches out to her. In the course of a single day, he not only confronts his past but shows her how the healing power of a family can help her embrace the future.

The discovery is that she is pregnant (I’ll give you that much), but that’s the plot of it.

I hear from a lot of friends that Bella is a must see. I’ll probably buy it soon.

I just saw Iron Man. I really loved that movie, especially the technology, he suit, the fights, and the action. I could only wish the last battle could use more beams and bombs, but other than that, it is a really good movie.

Chronicles of Narnia. Is. Awesome. Movie.
Loved it (if it’s not obvious enough).
<3

Naria is one of my favorite movies of all time. I loved the first one, and Caspian was really amazingly done.

Firefly: Sounds cool, but not my type of movie - I’m a fantasy/magic person all around. :unamused: But I bend, sometimes.

I just saw Prince Caspian, but you guys could read what I thought of it over on the Caspian thread.

I’d also watched more of Sliding Doors the other night - confusing movie but it’s been on and I can’t tear myself away.

And I saw about 15 minutes of Merlin’s Apprentice before I realized how horribly boring it was and how I couldn’t picture those events happening between Arthur’s reign and his reunion with Nimue. :stuck_out_tongue: Just can’t.

While watching the previews before Narnia, I saw the movie “City of Ember”. I thought that looks like a really intresting movie. I want to watch it.

I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull last weekend. I found it very enjoyable. It’s my favorite film in the series. The lighting was very well done – Janusz Kamiński did a fabulous job matching the lighting style from the previous films.

I just watched The Sasquatch Gang last night - pretty stupid movie but an okay way to pass the time. And it was pretty funny - it’s from the makers of Napoleon Dynamite though, so if you didn’t like that, this isn’t for you. Though, I found there to be better humor, not so subtle as it was in Napoleon Dynamite.

I have to agree- it was great! Although I was slightly put off by the ending…It just seemed pretty extreme, and ‘out there’. But whoever questioned whether Harrison Ford was still up to playing Indy has certainly been proved wrong!

I finally saw Transformers, and I was kinda impressed. I loved the people who acted in it.

Here’s the third official trailer for The Dark Knight :

I really hope i get to watch Indiana Jones either tonight or tommorow night. I will tell you guys what i thought when I get back!

I saw the new Indiana Jones a couple of weeks ago. It was quite good, since I never thought I would enjoy an adventure/action movie like Indy. I liked the part where [spoil]Indy found himself in a nuclear testing neighbourhood, and he had to lock himself into a fridge to avoid being turned to dust.[/spoil] There were a few moments of suspension of disbelief, which disrupted the flow of the movie for me: such as [spoil]Shia’s character being able to swing on the vines effortlessly, as well as the aforementioned fridge part. The part at the end with the aliens was a bit far fetched, and because I hadn’t seen any Indy movies beforehand I wasn’t expecting such mythical-ness, at all. But Senor Speilbergo seems to have an obsession with aliens, so I should have seen that one coming.[/spoil] Cate Blanchette was awesome - love her!

I wouldn’t mind watching Indy 4 again to see all the parts I missed the first time around, and to perve on Shia LaBeouf, of course. <3

I just watched the movie Popeye. I’d forgotten most of it from my childhood, but it was cute. Insane in the membrane, but cute.
