Movies - both new and old

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull:

Although the title is way too long and doesn’t even apply to most of the movie, I found the return of Henry Jones, Jr. to be very enjoyable!

Given, some of the plot doesn’t make a whole lotta sense, but add to that the fact that since Indy’s been gone, we’ve had to sit through such forgettable adventures as “The Mummy” and “National Treasure 2”. It’s almost as is Speilberg and Lucas are taking the series and turning it into a note-taking session for the makers of those films.

Harrison Ford, amidst opinions that he’s too old to be Indy, is still in top condition and the stunt work looks flawless. I’m also glad to see that Shia LaBeouf’s character wasn’t turned into a gimmick (Mutt Williams), or used too excessively.

And if you think Spielberg and Lucas don’t know how to do action anymore, boy have you got another thing coming. Almost half of the movie is a full-fledged kick-@$$ action scene, and I gotta tell you, it’s impressive!

Anyway, this movie is really for anyone looking for a great summer blockbuster, even if you haven’t seen “Raiders,” “Temple,” or “Last Crusade” (my personal favorite of the 4). In my opinion, it’s the second best of the seies and a great film for summer movie lovers! “Indy 4”: A-.

I personally think that the new Indy movie would have been better if the action in the first 10-15 minutes continued throughout. I also thought that the story was weak. [spoil]When you throw aliens in the mix of a movie that isn’t supposed to be science fiction… then… no thank you.[/spoil] Also, [spoil]the red ant/scorpion scene seemed a bit dragged out… but maybe I thought so because I wasn’t a big fan of almost seven minutes of small insects eating people alive, but that’s just me![/spoil]

I watched Lost and Delirious, and don’t recommend it to anyone 'cause it’s rated R and deals with a subject most people will be edgy about. Sad though, hate how it ended, and hate how society can drive someone to do such things … :frowning:

I saw the movie Night at the Museum on TV last night. I really liked it. It was a pretty funny movie.

I just got back from seeing Get Smart in the cinema. I didn’t paticularly enjoy the begining of the film - not very funny to say the least. It wasn’t until the second half that I really started to enjoy it. That’s when, in my opinion anyway, the film really did start to pile on the laughs at least from my perspective.

I watched a bit of Fire Starter in the hotel - was pretty interesting but I didn’t catch much. :stuck_out_tongue:

Some time after my age-long absence from this forum, I have been introduced to the Die Hard series, starring Bruce Willis. I have watched the first Die Hard…Probably about 50 times or more. So well done. Of course, in most action movies, the actions are impossible in reality. But in the first Die Hard…Some of the actions can be done. Just maybe not hanging on the side of a tower building trying to kick in the glass to save yourself. That’s not…Possible, is it? I also watched the first Terminator, for the 40th time. Yes, I love action movies. I’m sure you noticed that.

Also saw Dirty Harry, starring Clint Eastwood.

My parents went to watch “Get Smart” . I heard from them that it was pretty good.

Here’s another update on the production of Spider-Man 4 :

The next film I see in the theaters will obviously be WALL-E, followed by The Dark Knight.

Bill:

I’m sooo excited 4 Get Smart cuz i love the old show! please send me a message telling me every detail (but plaes leave all the jokes out so they’ll be fresh).

I am excited for Get Smart because Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway are really hilarious, and The Rock has been a favorite person of mine since I saw him on TV.

I recently watched “The Mummy” and I’m about to watch the sequel “The Mummy Returns”. And I almost love anything with zombies, monsters, undead. Horror stuff that’s scary… but only the ones with monsters in it. Most other type of horror “thriller” films don’t interest me that much. Oh well.

I’m very much craving more and more for monsters and anything that involves creatures and weird mutants or whatever. I can’t ever get enough of 'em. I am a tad bit of a weirdo, yeah.

I gotta tell you I can not wait for the next Mummy movie, with Jet Li in it.

For future reference, the third film in the series is titled The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.

I rewatched Peter Jackson’s King Kong earlier today - very good film, the motion capture (MoCap) for Kong was very well done, and Andy Serkis did a fabulous job with his performace of the character.

I just watched The Mummy too, 'cause it was on TV. Seen those films so many times, and although they’re not my absolute favorites - I can’t get sick of them.

I’m really looking forward to the third. :sunglasses:

I saw WALL-E last weekend. I enjoyed it - Ben Burtt’s sound design was really well done.

Everybody is seeing Wall-E and I am jealous. Nyaha!

Oh well. I am attempting to watch movies I ain’t never seen before and some I saw. But I have to admit… I don’t go to theaters. And I know that most would argue “Theaters are great. The big screen is the best.” And yeah, that is technically true. I just prefer the comfort of watching something in my home.

And I can easily just watch it on my computer. Hehehe.

So you are waiting for the DVD Little Chef Remy?

Perhaps…

But I’m too cheap and lazy to buy the DVD. I might get it via download. But… eh… that’s just how I am. Hehe.

Ain’t that illegal?
