Movies - both new and old

I’m not too big on seeing the Street Fighter movie. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s understandable. I know a couple of friends of mine who aren’t crazy to see it either.

I saw Street Fighter. It was okay. I was disappointed. Half of the acting was decent. The fight scenes kept me awake. People said it was going to be a bad movie, but you know what? I actually found it to be enjoyable. In fact, next week, I might watch it again.

The more I here about Street Fighter, the more I wanna see it. I might see it next week. Also I watched Speed Racer last night. It was really good at the beginning but then I lost interest. The special effects were pretty bad too. All the sets were computer animated. :unamused:

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus was a hilarious movie that I just saw, starring Dylan and Cole Sprouse (sharing one role). Man, they’re so much younger in this film, it’s hard to recognize them right off!

I just got down watching Be Kind, Rewind (that was meant to say “DONE” but down is funnier, so I thought I’d keep it  )

Very good movie though! I enjoyed it quite a lot, very Frank Capra inspired, I thought.

Today I watched My Favorite Martian, it was pretty good. I liked it because I remember seeing it as a kid.

And right now I’m watching Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, I think it’s a pretty funny romantic comedy.

I’d recomend both of these movies.

I wanna see that so bad! I just haven’t had the chance. Anyway, I watched The Emperor’s New Groove yesterday on TV. It’s a pretty good movie! :stuck_out_tongue: I like the voice of David Spade for Kusco.

The Out-of-Towners, Jack Lemmon, 1970. This is the first time I’ve seen it, and it’s already became one of my favourite movies. I can’t recommend this highly enough.

I just saw a French film called The Class today. Very funny, heartfelt, stunningly powerful piece on the beauracracy of the world education system. Very good ending, indeed! On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d say it’s an 8.

Glad to hear that you liked it, TS2. I hope to see The Class soon, along with Waltz with Bashir. Both were nominated for Oscars.

Just watched Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, for the umpteenth time. No matter how many times I watch it, I still get pulled in every time.

I’m just about to watch Ultraviolet.

I’ve been watching a lot of old movies recently, and a few of my childhood favorites:

Once Upon a Forest (okay, I didn’t actually watch it… it was kind of on in the background…)
Tarzan
Chicken Run

For my literature this year, I’m taking a course that requires me to watch movies and write reports on them. Here are some I’ve watched for that…

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (believe it or not, this was the first time I’ve ever seen it.)
Emma (the 1996 version)
The Philadelphia Story
Arsenic and Old Lace (this and the one listed before star Cary Grant, but heartily reccomend this one. Downright hilarious…!!! I’m serious, it is certainly worth renting…)

little_chef_eva09: Whoa, you watched Tarzan recently, too? Small world. I just saw it. I love it…I saw it on recorded tape, and just when I was about to turn off the T.V. when it ended, Sleeping Beauty began and I was really into it…so I ended up watching two Disney Classics in one night!

And I saw Hook, the film where, you know, Peter Pan returns to Neverland as an adult to save his children. Really entertaining, especially his reaction to seeing Tinkerbell but having forgotten who she was.
“[spoil]It’s a firefly from hell!”
Tinkerbell: Come on, let’s go.
Peter: Oh, no. It’s happening already. I didn’t even have a nervous breakdown. I left my body…there’s my house right down there…where are we going? LOL[/spoil]

And The Lion King 1 1/2. Pretty good for a sequel…er, “midquel”. Very entertaining as well. Though I would have been more thrilled for the first one.

I saw The Great Debaters last night. I liked it, it isn’t my favorite anti-racism movie but it was powerful.

I watched Disney’s Robin Hood last night. It had been years since I last saw it. A fun movie and being the animation student I am, I kept analyzing the movement and how the relationships between characters was done. Ollie Johnston did some amazing work with Prince John and Sir Hiss.

I finally saw Garden State, and I have to say I found it to be a let down. It was a very strange movie, and I found it felt kind of pointless. I got the film, I just didn’t get it’s point. I understand that some people love it, I guess I’m just not one of those people.

I’ve been watching a lot of movies recently, and in the last little bit I also saw Soul Men, which is hilarious and has great music. I also recently saw What Just Happened?, which I kind of liked, but it didn’t really leave any impression on me, unlike Barry Levinson’s early work like Diner and Rain Man. I also finally saw Forrest Gump, which I had been waiting years to see, I am glad to say that I absolutely loved it.

This weekend I’m probably gonna buy Role Models on DVD. I can’t wait, defenitely one of the funniest movies of 2008.

I also want to see I Love You, Man.

Have to agree! Role Models is really funny. I didn’t know what to expect, but once I saw it, I am glad to say that it was better than I had thought it might have been.
