Movies - both new and old

March of the Penguins was maybe the best documentary

I’ve seen! It was just so touching…

I know this series is rather old, but I just had to ask

if anybody used to watch this when they were younger:

Guy

My sister and I used to get alot kicks out of these little short films. Heck, I still watch them

from time to time…just for laughs.

Bill Nye isn’t a movie isn’t

it? I thought we were just talking about movies.

Cha – it’s actually just a tv series. My apologies for

getting a little off-topic. Perhaps I should have put that in the “tv shows” thread – heh.

That is true, but ll and all,

documentaries are just not my kind of film. Unless the subject really, really intrests me, I am just going to say

no to them.

I would watch a

documentary if I were flipping through the channels and happened to catch one on PBS… They’re interesting and

all… but it does take quite a bit of determination to get through the whole thing.

Recently I’ve gone

a little mainstream, and yeah I know I’m behind the times. A few weeks ago I saw The Devil Wears

Prada and just this weekend Little Miss Sunshine. I love Little Miss

Sunshine… I think it’s one of my favorite movies now. The Devil Wears Prada was good but it’s just one of

those movies you want to watch when you are not feeling intellectual.

I don’t really watch documentaries mainly because there aren’t

that many around . Haven’t seen March of the Penguins, nor do I plan to.

They did a spoof of March of

the Penguins by the way. Looks very bad…

What is your favorite comedic movie? What is one

that made you cry out of your seat so much because of laughter?

Wild Hogs was hysterical. So far, that is the hardest I have

laughed at any movie.

Mitch- Wasn’t March of the Penguins just amazing? I thought I’d get bored, but

you really get entranced by each of the penguins’ personalities!

What is your favorite superhero movie? Sorry, but

The Incredibles does not count.

You know

what? I am going to say it anyways. I know it doesn’t count, but how can you compare it to other Super Hero

movies out there?

THE

INCREDIBLES!!!

Fair

enough. The Spider-Man series is good. So was Superman Returns.

The Star Swordsman -

Favorite comedic movie? Is that a trick question? (snigger)

Nah – I’m just kidding. But really,

there are alot of great comedic films out there that deserve a spot in the lime-light (and have gotten a spot in

that light, for that matter). Generally, the crazier and more wacky the film is, the better. I love off-the-wall

hysteria. (laughs) :stuck_out_tongue:

Viola’! Some of my favorites:

Ferris Bueller’s Day

Off
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Space Balls
9 to 5
Liar Liar
Dumb and Dumber
Big Fat

Liar

I like pretty much basically anything with Eddie Murphy in it, too…

lizardgirl - Oh yes, I agree. It was simply charming! You wouldn’t think

that an hour and a half film about the lives of penguins could be so endearing and intriguing, but it is. It’s

probably one of the very few films that I cried on… (Pitiful, I know – heh.)

Bill - Haha – you thought that you could keep The Star

Swordsman from mentioning The Incredibles? (No offense,

The Star Swordsman – heheh). (snigger)

Hmm – I suppose my favorite

superhero movie would have to be Superman. And not that new one; I’m talking about

the good old one, with Christopher Reeves as the man of steel. Great stuff.

I loved Space Balls. That was probably one of my favorite comedic movies of

all. It has so much parody in it.

The Star Swordsman - Haha – I know, it was hilarious! I love

that “Darth Vader-esque” costume that Rick Moranis wore. :stuck_out_tongue:

"Hopefully, we’ll all meet

again in Space Balls 2, in the search for more money." -

Yogurt

Yeah, I never really hoped for

that, but hey, it was a good laugh. And the Swartz battle was just so fun to watch.

Haha – oh man, now you’ve got me laughing!

"The ring! I can’t believe you fell for the oldest

trick in the book! What is with you, man?!" - Dark Helmet

Dude, that was so funny. I was crackin’ up

like crazy.

Join the club Mitch. I too was like: Dude, how could you

fall for that?

The Star

Swordsman - (snigger) Yeah, and then when Dark Helmet pretends to hand the ring back to him he

falls for that, too. Just hilarious. And yet Lone Star still manages to come out victorious anyway.

Oh sheesh, I forgot to mention another one of my favorite comedies: Blazing

Saddles. Some of the adult humor blows over my head, but other than that…I was laughin’ pretty

hard in places. :stuck_out_tongue:
