I also loved
Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers! Really, really hilarious.

I saw
Meet the Robinsons last Tuesday. I’m thinking of
seeing it again- my brother and I are simply avoiding seeing Reign Over
Me- it looks good but it always hits home when they talk about some heartbreaking
story having to do with 9/11.
Yesterday, the day was going by so slow since I ran out of things to do and
was punished from using the computer, so … I watched extra features of A Bug’s
Life (Fleabie, outtakes, Geri’s Game, etc.) and I watched my old tape of
The Lion King (I never got the DVD but I have 2 and 1
1/2 on DVD O_o) and The NeverEnding Story.
I
also played Cars for a bit but that isn’t a movie.
^^
Join the club FONY. I just saw Meet the Robinsons last night. I really loved the movie.
I saw this film called Sunshine
last Wednesday. I wasn’t expecting too much, dispite being a very major sci-fi fan, but I was proven wrong! It
was just an AMAZING film, with the most stunning special effects, and there were so many moments of just sheer
tension when you didn’t even want to breathe! Its only downfall was that it was perhaps it was a little long,
but apart from that…incredible.
I think there will be a
sequel to Superman Returns.
What kind
of sports movies do you guys like?
I haven’t seen
many sports movies. The only one that I remember seeing is Angels in the Outfield. And that was fairly good.
lizardgirl - Cool –
I’ll have to check it out!
The Star Swordsman - Sports movies? Eh – I’m
not really big on sports film (unless you count Martial Arts as a sport). The only one I really liked was
The Greatest Game Ever Played, simply because it was superbly done and also because
I’m a big fan of golf.
I love the Longest Yard,
Space Jam, Friday Night Lights, Coach Carter and Glory Road.
I like Remember the Titans… I don’t watch many
sports movies though.

Field of
Dreams, without a doubt, is my favorite sports-related movie of all time (#8 in my list of top
films). I also happen to be a huge baseball fan, but I can assure you that you don’t have to be a fan of that
sport to admire this goldmine of a film. You might also want to consider watching it with your parents (for
reasons you’ll realize once you actually do watch it ).
Another sports film that I absolutely love (#19
in my list) is Searching for Bobby Fischer. It’s funny actually - I watched the
movie on the same day I learned about it. I was surfing the net one day, looking for movies that might interest
me. Searching for Bobby Fischer was the first movie that I came across, and not
surprisingly (I guess I can say that now ) its premise got me really interested and curious (I became even
more curious when I realized that Roger Ebert gave it four stars out of four and that it has a 100% rating in
Rotten Tomatoes.) Once I learned about the film, I placed a hold on it in my city’s public library. However, a
few hours later, I somehow felt impatient, so I went to the public library and borrowed the film (I had to cancel
my hold first before actually borrowing it). I watched the movie the moment I got back home - I was elated and
shocked in the grandest of ways after realizing that I just witnessed a masterpiece.
Finally, how could I,
or anyone else who loved it for that matter, forget about Cars (which came in at #31
in my list)? I guess you can call that a sports movie too, can’t you? (Besides, none of the films that I just
mentioned above are your typical “sports” movies. To be very frank, I find a lot of sports films
cliched and preachy (e.g., Remember the Titans). Not that cliche and preachy are
always bad aspects of storytelling, but they were detrimental to the film in Remember the
Titans’ case, and in many other sports films’ case, in my humble opinion).
CountSolo - My gosh, how could I have forgotten Field of
Dreams? Although, judging by the fact that I haven’t seen in it years…it’s no surprise that I
nearly forgot about the film until you mentioned it. But yeah – it a masterpiece. I’ll have to see that again
sometime soon…
As for Cars: Hey yeah, I never really considered that to be
a sports movie until you said so! Heheh – that’s interesting. Well, I’ll count it in then.
There is one sports movie that comes to mind
that I haven’t seen: Kicking and Screaming.
I find that I really
love sports movies with football in it. It is one of my favorite sports.
What is your’e favorite movie of
all time?
Bill - My
favorite movie of all time is Finding Nemo. Absolutely
stunning. Words can’t describe this film, except for “stunning”. But, of
course, that will all change once I see Ratatouille.
Nice question,
Bill!
This doens’t need
any thought. it is absolutely THE INCREDIBLES!!!. Don’t say it doesn’t count, because I will not change my
mind.
My favorite movie of all time is
Labyrinth- it’s my inspiration always. And, I’ve been
watching it for as long as I can remember, possibly since birth, which is about five years before Pixar came out
with it’s first film. So I have an excuse. ^^ It’s not to say I don’t love Pixar though- Pixar’s my reason
for living!
My favorite movie of all time?
Hmm…
IT’S SO HARD TO CHOOSE ONE!
Well,at the moment, from the Pixar
movies, I think my favorite is Finding Nemo, but when I see
Ratatouille, it’s going to change.
But, come on, it’s really hard to pick just
one movie!
Well, there are some films that, even
if I’ve just seen them, I’d want to watch them again…But my favourite film of all time has to be Artificial
Intelligence.
