Hahaha, hey Joro, you should in a good word for me
jk, jk.
Man, it’s gotten quiet here. Some of my friends still haven’t heard back for PUP.
Now I’m just waiting back to hear from the Animation internship, but seeing how the first one went, I can predict the results
PFFT.Got my rejection letter this morning. But’s that’s okay; at least now I can sleep again.
BUT, for those of you who applied for either the staging position or for an April 4th deadline, you should begin to get feedback (if you haven’t already.)
Hey! I’ve been checking this thread pretty constantly while sitting at the edge of my seat waiting to hear a reply from the animation internship. Since it’s been kind of a treasure hunt looking for clues all throughout the internet as to who got what and when, I thought I would add my two cents! Although I am in the same situation as most people, I think…
I haven’t heard from them yet, and I sent in my application back at the end of February. I have applied twice before, both times I have received a rejection letter via email. Last year, I didn’t get that till the 28th of April. Has anyone else applied to the animation internship in previous years?
Oh yeah? I applied for the Graphic Art internship and stumbled upon this thread through my hunt for more info on these internships. Do you know something about the time frame or deadlines they have to meet?
Anyways, I still haven’t heard anything either. But at this point, there’s no way I’ll get an interview. Oh and I was just playing around about putting in a good word for you. I don’t know the recruiter, just received an email from one.
You know Joro, you know how to bring me up and bring me crashing back down in the span of two sentences… soooo mean!
I would never ever do anything like that to you Joro; you’d cry XD
Nice to hear that there are still others who haven’t heard back for PUP. I keep imagining that my application is sitting on the corner of someone’s desk with a post-it note on it reminding them to reject me at some point.
Side note: I went… researching on linkedin the other day and it looks like pixar has hired at least one technical director intern and one production intern already. So if anyone has applied for those, expect to hear back very soon?
It does still say applied. I applied back on March 19th or something… updated my reel last night, though.
I applied to Look Dev, Modeling, and Lighting, but I think my best chance/biggest interest is Look Dev, and I made a reel specifically for that as well as submitting a generalist reel. You?
Hi guys,
I’ve been lurking here a long time, and I just want to say that I think all of the PUP interns have been hired already. My friend got in, and he says one of the Pixar TDs has friended all of the PUPs on facebook and added them to a private facebook group.
I think that means they’re finished searching, which is pretty disappointing, but I’m happy for my friend and all the other PUPs!
People here shouldn’t get too disheartened - pushing ourselves to be Pixar-worthy is definitely not a bad thing, and even if we don’t end up getting in, there are so many other great opportunities in CG!
Hey there, I was just wondering whether or not the dates on the status update on the Pixar account mean anything. Mine still shows only the days I submitted my application. Also, has anyone heard back yet for the Camera Staging Artist internship?
I’ve applied for art one
Haven’t hear anything…
well I lost hope…it’s been nearly 3 weeks after deadline, I am sure they already contacted people for interviews
Yup. I got my heart-felt rejection letter Monday, April 18. It said they were ready to “move forward.” But I bet it’s still quite possible that you’re in the running! Good luck!
On that note, did anyone else get this totally generic message? It’s seems a bit less comforting since the ones that came out in previous years. Or maybe this year, but I just didn’t get the ‘nice’ one.
If you never received an interview, you will get a generic message. If you did get an interview, the recruiter who emailed you to set up your interviews will usually be the one to deliver the bad news. Which you can then ask if any of the interviewers had mentioned anything regarding your interview. Some times they take notes for each candidate and then decide after.
I received my acceptance to PUP yesterday. For those still waiting on Disney, I wish you the best of luck, and I sincerely hope things work out for you. What ever happens, the CG industry is filled with opportunities so never give up!!
