Pixar Sightings In Everyday Life

Today in la clase de espanol, we did this stupid thing where you basically go up in front of the class and ask/answer Spanish questions with a puppet on your hand. I didn’t go up, but a kid in my class pulled from the box a Rex hand puppet, and I was like “OMGGGG”. It was pretty cool. I want that puppet!

My best friend saw a Woody’s Roundup truck on the way home from work yesterday. An actual semi truck with Woody’s Roundup graphics on the sides! I was like dude! I would have been so tempted to follow it! But she said it was going in the opposite direction so she couldnt.

I realized something the other day! I hope this is a good place to post it, but it seems to relate to the topic (again, I said I hope so…).

It was when we were watching the Polar Express the other day. Ya know, that Christmas show with Tom Hanks, the train that takes the kids to Christmas, and one of them (the lead boy) gets the first gift of Christmas. Well, two things to know is that Tom Hanks plays like 5 characters on that movie, and this movie was made after Toy Story. So, anyway, I noticed during the scene that the lead boy (Tom H. plays him) is on the top of the train with the ghost hobo, and when it shows his feet he has brown slippers on with what looked like a picture on them. I paused it to see what it was, and it was Woody on a horse!! He had Woody slippers on!!! I thought that was cool that they tied Toy Story with Tom Hanks in the movie by having the main character that he plays wear the Toy Story merchandise!

These have been like…over 2 months I took it! Well, you already know about my college’s photo sharing policy (Thank God they allow it after students’ complaints!). I went to a cineplex next to Ikea, and the pictures tell everything. As a Pixar geek, you can say I jumped around and took many pictures. Everybody freaked out.

wannabechef91, those pics are so cool! It’s awesome that they had those! I would totally freak out if I saw those somewhere

So about two months ago I said my school was having a pixar pep rally, and I actually took pics for you guys on my phone, but that weekend I sorta, um, broke my phone and I had to get a replacement phone, so the pics were gone. Luckily I was able to find these on my school’s website :stuck_out_tongue:

First one was a class competition where they raced RC cars and whoever won the race won nothing except bragging rights  The second one was a dance thing with the Senior class I think. I can’t quite remember though.

Ok, so I have another story, last saturday i went to Staples so I could do my christmas shopping, and they had this little pad thing that you hook up to your computer and it’s supposed to be like a mouse. It comes with most laptops now I think. But they had this button you could push and it would show you a video about it, and at some point it was talking about how on the internet you could zoom in by just sliding your fingers together, and on the screen it showed the Pixar website and it was being zoomed in on! I actually had to watch it twice to make sure I didn’t just imagine it, and it was so cool to see it! I mean, out of all the websites they could have used for an example, they used the PIXAR website!

I don’t see much people who get my Pixar-related jokes…

One time though, in class, a guy told us he used to be a boy scout or something similar. I said something like; ‘Lol, I bet you used to help old guys cross the street to get ‘assisting the elderly’ badges!’

And then my teacher said: ‘isn’t that from Up?’
Much blabber about the movie ensued.
It was awesome. xD

Oh, and I was supposed to get the Dutch cinematic poster for Up but the cinema jerks ignored me and gave it to someone else :T

I recently saw several of Carl’s lost balloons in the sky!

Just the other day… my writing teacher started to talk about Finding Nemo’s plot.

Today I went to a bike meet with my grandpa (it’s like this thing where a bunch of guys with motorcycles and cool cars get together outside of a Harley Davidson store and they have a band and some food stands and it’s really cool). Anyways, we were looking at some of the cars and one of them was like this pick up truck that had the bed flip up and out of the way and then these two small flat screen TV’s popped up and then you could watch a movie with the TV’s and the car’s stereo system. So I’m looking at the car and I notice that the TV’s are working and I look at what’s playing and out of every movie that could have been playing, it happened to be Cars (which I guess is appropriate  ). I just thought it was funny that even in a group of bikers I find a Pixar reference

Saw a very middle-aged, portly man with an Up umbrella yesterday. Felt like going up to him and saying, “you’re so cool! High five!” But that would’ve been a bit weird.

Several years ago, on the way to Dollywood, I passed a Pass It On billboard. It had The Incredibles in their action pose scene, and said “teamwork…pass it on” I wish I had a camera at that point in time…

The other day me and my dad were in a hardware store. We were in the checkout queue and I was just looking around… when I spotted a little boy wearing a Cars t-shirt! Not the most exciting of sightings, I must admit, but I couldn’t stop staring and his older brother (who looked about 7) kept giving me weird looks.

I had another Pixar encounter at the weekend! Me and my family went to a matinée on Sunday, and I just happened to spot this huge bouncy castle slide with a Monsters, Inc theme! It had a few characters on the side like Sully, Mike, Boo and Roz, and me and my sister giggled at the sight of of something Pixar

In my town, there’s a store that sells fish, and the sign outside the door advertising it has pictures of a clownfish and a Regal Tang!

One time I went to the bank and I saw a soap thingey with a sticker with Squirt on it above the pump.

Just finished watching Bedtime Stories. In one of the dream/story sequences where these two guys were fighting without gravity, there was a guy in a Buzz Lightyear suit cheering in the crowd!
If anyone has seen this movie you’ll know what I mean

Hey, I wonder, because it was partly made by Disney, it was a nod toward Pixar? Chances are it probably is.

Yeah, that is cool. That movie’s so good…I may buy it!!!

That, or just a small joke that fits in with setting. Like the cameos of Pixar in the simpsons.
I also watched some or most of that film recently and knew that joke since perhaps the first time I watched it.

I never really got the whole thing with dentists and Finding Nemo. I don’t know about you guys or the dentists you go to, but I’ve been to three different dentist places in the past few years, and all of the offices were decorated with Finding Nemo stuff, like posters, etc. Didn’t Finding Nemo portray dentists in a really negative light? It puzzles me why dentists would want to advocate a film that makes them seem bad.

I just got a card in the mail from the dentist reminding me of my next regular checkup. Guess what? It was a Finding Nemo card!

This might be obvious to some Italians, but guess what the biggest bank in Rome is called?
