Pixar Summer Internship 2015

Hey guys,
I’ve been reading this forum for a while and feel like I know you all. I am from Australia and have applied for this internship a few times. I also applied for the Prod Management internship and haven’t heard anything yet! Does anyone know the running dates for the actual internship? Is it same as story (june 1st to aug 21st)?

Also does anyone know if they equally accept people internationally?

Congrats Andreagoh!!! See you in June!!!
Wow congrats Andreagoh and R_Marrujo!

I guess thats all for PUP? :\

Andreagoh is PUP and I am actually a Rendering Technical Director Resident.

YAYAY!! See ya!! Thank you all!

Like underwood mentioned, apparently Matthew Luhn is trying a more hands-on approach to the internship, thus the email reply. This is the first time I’ve heard they do this for any internship.

PEOPLE APPLYING TO THE STORY INTERNSHIP!!

How many of you are planning to update their story portfolio? We have 11 days to do so. If you guys want and you’re comfortable with it, we could all get together and exchange feedback.

You lucky, lucky story interns. XD I’d love a mass spam email of “this is what going on” at the moment.

Definitely, hahah. I wish animation applicants could have a chance to update their reels considering I’ve finished 2 animations already since March 1st. 8D

Yes! I think thats a great idea, I’m applying for both production and story - however i desperately need feedback since I am actually a script writer, and don’t do storyboards very much. I know I probably have no chance now but I thought the internship would be more story related rather than drawing?

quick question everyone, when you view your status on the pixar website, does it show a ‘submission’ bar similar to the disney careers website? I’m not sure if those grey bars at the bottom are supposed to mean anything important like if my browser just isn’t loading them properly

I noticed those gray bars are there when I use Safari, but if I log in with Firefox they disappear. I don’t think they mean anything.

Interestingly, my internship I applied for is not clickable. It’s just text? Just curious, what happens if you click “Publicity Intern”? Does it link you to the opening?

yeah, it just leads back to a description of the position. i wish those gray bars did mean something, maybe then we could know where we are in the selection process

@retrogecko I find that if I’m looking at my internship status I need to log on through the intern portal for the job position to be clickable. Otherwise, its black and un-clickable, like you describe.

For those of you who have gotten interviews- have all of you been looked at on LinkedIn before being contacted?

Hey guys!

I just created an account out of the stress of waiting. I decided to update my application one more time today just to make sure it’s perfect. I applied for the Marketing and Publicity Internship and have not heard anything back. I also received an anonymous page view on my linkedin today so here’s to hoping.

I wonder how much longer we’ll have to wait!

I also had an anonymous view on my linked page! I even googled if that happens a lot on linkedin ( I was nervous it would be kind of like an egg following you on twitter and its just spam) but they said that large companies will do that so they don’t receive a million emails responding to the view asking ‘why were you looking at my profile?/are you hiring?/when can i come in for an interview?’ sort of thing. So we must be doing something right!

hopefully we hear something soon!

I too received an anonymous view, but I have been job/intern hunting like mad. I know someone else on here said that Pixar viewed them and it actually said it was Pixar, not anonymous.

Have their been any rejection emails besides production being sent out?

Second-hand heard that one of Pixar’s Editorial Interns/applicants didn’t get an interview until Mid-May. Hang in there, guys!

Teabat, the person that got a view specifically from Pixar might have a premium account or a third-party connection with the person that viewed them. I got an anon view too but like you, I was trying to up my linkedin presence for many jobs and internships.

Persnicketyt & Teabat Even with an unpaid account, you can further analyze the location of the anonymous viewers on LinkedIn!

@Underwood How do you find a location of an anonymous viewer?

I also got an anonymous view on my Linked In profile, right after updating my resume on the Pixar application site. I applied for the production internship and still haven’t received a rejection letter!

Teabat Just browse through the tabs/charts on the web desktop page underneath the “Who’s viewed your profile” header.

I think LinkedIn changed the way “anonymous” is anonymous. I’ve seen pictures online of the list of possible identities of the mystery person. Now LinkedIn just shows “This person is viewing profiles anonymously” and the dates in which they are doing so, very vaguely, I might add. I had one where the listed dates were actually through future dates >_>
