Really nice numbers there. I’m likin’ it.
Those numbers aren’t too shabby. Not too shabby at all… ![]()
Thanks for the update Bill.
Bill - Yes, thank you for the update! It looks like the “Rat” is still pulling in some dough…

Aaaand, the rat’s opening in England tomorrow! Can’t wait to see what a healthy influx of strong sterling will do to those numbers…
EDIT: This from BoM:
" Its German start more than tripled Cars’ 2006 opening and more than doubled The Incedibles’ 2004 launch."

putmoneyinthypurse - Ah yes, indeed it does! I wonder how England will take to Ratatouille’s release? Positively, I’m sure…
As for the German numbers: Wow. Pretty impresive…

I’m eagerly awaiting Ratatouille’s release in England tomorrow (or today in my case). ![]()
Thanks for that article, putmoneyinthypurse! Wow, Ratatouille is doing great overseas! It’s actually receiving weekly increases, not decreases, in a lot of its foreign markets. Even without Germany, the $7 million it has earned this weekend from all the existing markets is more than it made last week, and is more than enough to take the #1 spot this weekend! And Ratatouille’s final two markets, UK and Italy, earned past Pixar films an average of $80 million, so Remy’s still got a lot to earn! I would not be surprised if Ratatouille surpassed not only Cars, but also Toy Story 2 and Monster’s, Inc in its worldwide totals! I mean, we’re looking at numbers between $530-$550 million by the end of the year! That would make it the third highest-grossing Pixar film worldwide, behind only The Incredibles and Finding Nemo.
I have a feeling it will do pretty well here. The cinema wasn’t full when I saw it, but there were a fair amount of people for the time. It should do pretty well, especially with the amount of advertising that there’s been. Even at school today, in the library they were handing out postcards of Ratatouille. And our school never does that for films.
My friends enjoyed it, though, of course, not as much as I did, but it’s probably not gonna go down so well with people of my own age, unfortunately. But I’ve no doubt that overall, it will do very, very well. ![]()
My word, that is some IMPRESSIVE numbers right there! (does her “Ratatouille-is-bringing-in-the-cash” dance)
lizardgirl-They WERE?Oh man,are you lucky! Do you have a pic? Wonder if they’ll do that for the upcoming Pixar films…(does le official Mitch snigger)
AnnoyingPerson- Oh, they were just of the screenshot of Remy mid-air holding onto a piece of cheese, but postcard size. Nothing new or anything. ![]()
lizardgirl - Postcards of "Ratatouille?!? At your school?? I want one! (snigger)
Annoying - Haha! Do I snigger that much? I guess I do. ![]()

Ratatouille is #1 in the foreign box office for the second week in a row with a $21 million weekend, and a $271 million total. It opened in the UK with $9 million, $3.2 million behind Finding Nemo, but $4.1 ahead of Cars.
Ratatouille’s current totals:
$204,431,330 - Domestic (42.9%)
$271,846,000 - Foreign (57.1%)
$476,277,330 - Worldwide
It passed Cars’ worldwide total of $461.9 million, and is only 10 million dollars away from passing Toy Story 2’s (unadjusted) worldwide total of $485. Ratatouille also passed Monsters, Inc.'s foreign total of $269.4 million, but still has a ways to go to catch up to MI’s worldwide gross.
Wowie. It passed Cars’ record and is catching up to Toy Story 2’s worldwide gross? I’d say that that’s quite a feat right there…
Thanks for the news, Shark Bait! ![]()

Intresting numbers there Shark Bait!
Another update! ![]()
Ratatouille is leading in the foreign box office for the third weekend in a row! It earned $30.1 million, more than three times the gross of the #2 ranked movie. Ratatouille opened in Italy with a $6.2 million weekend, and is holding over very well in Germany and UK. Italy was the film’s last major market, so it’s worldwide theatrical run should soon wind down to a close. But that’s okay, because Ratatouille has now passed the $500 million mark worldwide, and is only $10 million behind Monsters, Inc.!
Current Totals:
$204,907,550 - (39.8%) - Domestic
$310,118,000 - (60.2%) - Foreign
$515,025,550 - Worldwide
