I hope Ratatouille ends up making half a billion, just 'cause it sounds cool.

Pixar’s “Ratatouille” should hit the wonderous $200 million dollar mark by the end of this weekend. It’s a little less than half a million away from it as of today and should pull off that record by Sunday night. As for its overseas take…

It’s getting bigger and Bigger…

and BIGGER.

The internation total should overtake the domestic total sometime in mid-September… the Rat is proving a big hit around the world.

The final take should be at least what “Cars” took in, which was just under $462 million… Remy should at least make a little more(it has over a $371 million total so far). Brad Bird’s great, little film still has over HALF it’s foreign territories to still open up.

See? All those doomsayers predicting the end of Pixar Animation and writing articles about how Iger paid too much for the Lamp… Well, it’s pretty silent from the naysayers right now. Come the end of the year they may be sitting around scratching their heads wondering how Lasseter and his crew were able to defeat the negativity and go 8 for 8.

And even if Ratatouille doesn’t end up bringing in loads of cash (even though it likely will), the price Disney paid for Pixar was a good deal because these Pixar movies of today are setting the groundwork for them to become the “next Disney”. A brand that people can rely on again and again, for good stories. You can’t put a price on that.

Weekend estimates are in: Ratatouille added 112 theaters for Labor Day weekend and earned an estimated $1,151,000 for a total of $200,726,000!! The daily grosses for Friday through Sunday aren’t in yet, but my guess is that it crossed the $200 million mark on Saturday. And with tomorrow being a holiday, I can see Ratatouille reaching $201 million for the 4-day total.

Way to go, Remy!

Guys, WONDERFUL NEWS! In the week from August 16 to August 22, Ratatouille was number one in the Portuguese box office!! Looks like it grossed 870 672,87 Euros ( I don’t know how much that is in dollars ^^; ), and was seen by 205 928 people!

International totals have just been updated! Ratatouille ranked third in foreign grosses this week, bringing in $10.6 million. Worldwide totals:

$201,249,448 - Domestic
$190,475,000 - Foreign
$391,724,448 - Worldwide

Ratatouille should cross the $400 million mark within the week!
