Have you tried ordering it online?
Mitch and TSS - No and I don’t plan to. Not much
of an online shopper. Maybe I’ll give Target a shot or something.
Bill - Eh – me neither. I
hate shopping on-line, too.
Just a suggestion… ![]()
Well, if you can, check every single store that sells music. I am confident that you
will find something.
I want the soundtrack so bad!!
It’s Michael Giacchino, who’s easily the best composer since John Williams, and this is his best since TI (even
though I’ve only heard one film score in between this and TI). I’ve been having trouble getting a itunes
account (it asks me for a credit card when all I have is an itunes one). So, I’ll keep an eye out for the actual
physical CD. I work in the CD/ DVD section of the local Best Buy, but we haven’t got any in yet (we got a huge
box of Disney CDs and yet no Ratatouille soundtrack), so I’ll check next time I’m in there, if not I might head
down to the Disney Store, hopefully they might have it.
The only place I’ve found the Ratatouille soundtrack is
Amazon.com. I bought the Nemo soundtrack at a record store near my house, which shut down because iTunes took
over the legal music market. I bought The Incredibles score off of Amazon.com. And I bought Cars soundtrack at
Target. It seems like the only time Pixar soundtracks are at Target or Best Buy is when there’s pop music on it,
like the Cars soundtrack.
When I heard parts of The Incredibles score, I started searching at almost all the CD stores around where I lived, then a Best Buy opened up across town, when in there during the grand opening and there was one copy there. I’m actually surprised that the one I work at doesn’t have it in, when we have quite a number of the PotC soundtrack (which, like everything Hans Zimmer does, is pure garbage) up at the front, and as I said on Monday night we got a big shipment from Disney, but no Ratatouille. We have it on the website, but none in store so far. I need to go downtown tomorrow, so maybe I’ll pop by that huge HMV they have there (like 3 floors) and see if they have it, or maybe head down to Disney Store, actually I think I’ll call them later tonight to check (if I can find the number).
Update: Just called Disney Store (The only one I know of in Canada) and they don’t have it either. So I guess I’ll try HMV, if they don’t then I’ll just get an itunes card.
This was briefly mentioned previously in the thread, but I bought it today and wanted to tell you guys about it.
Along with the Ratatouille soundtrack, another CD was released of songs that are new and classic food favorites inspired by the film. The 12 songs are performed by Fred Mollin and The Blue Sea Band featuring various artists.
2 of the songs have sentimental value if you attended the Big Cheese Tour. “Cheese Please” and “French Fries” were played on a loop all day, and they’re both contagious and outrageous!
Heheh.

You could just buy a pre-paid itunes store card, like a $15/$20 one. That’s how I buy music and you don’t need a credit card to sign up then. And then you might havea few dollars left over to buy a few songs from the Whats Cooking album.
I’ll probably buy both of these albums in a store simply because it seems as if I am getting more for my money, and it will be good to add to my physical Ratatouille merch collection.
PV - Heheh. Yeah, I’ve been seeing that little “What’s Cooking?” casette all over the place. However, I think all pass on purchasing it, no matter how cute Remy looks on the cover. Shocking, I know. (snigger) ![]()
Cassette? They still sell those? ![]()
~~=oP
I’m so going to get this!!
PV - Lol. Whoops! Wrong word choice… ![]()
Seriously, though, I wish they did still sell cassettes. They’re the coolest things…
Finally found it!! Went down to the local HMV, and it was the first one in the soundtrack section that I saw. Wow! Did Giacchino do another amazing job. If he doesn’t get the Oscar for this, than I might have to arrange hearing tests for all the voters.
Mister Incredible - Haha – indeed! I’m glad you finally found the dang thing! I’m listening to it right now as I type. Beautiful… ![]()
I still can’t find it. (groan) ![]()
I was very impressed with the music in Ratatouille. I’ll just have to get this CD…hopefully I can find it! ![]()
How does Ratatouille’s soundtrack compare with The Incredibles’ soundtrack?
Compared to the score for TI, the Ratatouille score is…hmmmm…fluttery and passionate. You envision a rat scurrying around in a panic and then waltzing on the counter top as he brews a sensational concoction. Plus, it kinda sounds French, ya know? ![]()
Well TSS, I’m pretty sure that will be the basis for EVERYONE’S decisions. ![]()
