Wow rachel, i never actually catch these. I find the detail in E PLURIBUS CHICKEN to be really funny. Never thought they would put it there.
The āE PLURIBUS CHICKENā joke totally flew over my head, for obvious reasons - I donāt regularly handle American money - so I didnāt get the reference, but as for the level of detail Pixar puts into their films, well my sig says it all, doesnāt it?
Thanks, A113. I knew I had seen that bear somewhere before, but just couldnāt rememberā¦ Iāll add that in next time.
TSS - Are you any closer to submitting any The Incredibles in-jokes? 'Cause I have a few that I wanted to add myself, but wanted to wait and give you the chance to do so beforehand - hey, I have to leave some jokes for you guys to submit, right? I canāt keep 'em all to myself. Heheh.
If you could just submit the ones you have found already, if you donāt think you will have the time to find any more soon, you can do so. It takes a long time to update the list each time (finding and capping each reference, plus uploading to the 'net as well as adding the info to the list and linking), that if you had a lot of references, it would be better if you gave them to me in separate parts anyway.
Go on ahead and post a few rachel. I didnāt really find much, but Iāll show you what I got via PM.
rachel - Puh-ha! Your name is in the movieā¦ Thatās awesome!
By the way, Iām not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but the Pizza Planet truck actually appears twice in Ratatouille, not just once. If you would like me to provide you with a screenshot displaying the famous vehicleās second appearance in the film then just let me know.
ā Mitch
Well, at the moment Iām putting together some jokes for the next update, mainly with Toy Story and Toy Story 2 - the former really needing some in-jokes added since there are hardly any.
TSS - Thanks again for the The Incredibles in-jokes - Iāll add them next time!
Mitch - Yeah, Iām still geekinā out about it. He he.
I donāt believe anyone has ever mentioned that beforeā¦If you could post a picture here (or link) of the second Pizza Planet truck in Ratatouille, that would be great! Try to get the highest resolution possible. I donāt think the list would be complete without it! Thanks in advance.
rachel - I just sent you a message along with a screenshot of the said truck in Ratatouille. I decided to send the picture to you via a message because I didnāt want to clutter up this thread too much, as the image itself is a rather large file. (The resolution is as crisp as I could get it, though.)
I hope that it helps!
ā Mitch
I canāt wait to see them, along the stuff you might have found.
The list is looking very well done, Rachel, although it probably will never be done.
You are right A113, as long as Pixar films are made, it will never end!
Doesnāt mean I wonāt try! But yeah, the list can only be complete for a year or so until the next Pixar movie comes out. But even then I bet there are Pixar in-jokes so obscure and hard to find, that the list wouldnāt be fully complete even if we tried our best. But even if we only ended up with the a good 80% of references, as well as the most detailed list anywhere, then Iād be happy with that.
Thankfully!
Whoah thatās cool. I dindāt know about some of those.
Join the club destination, most of the stuff on the list surprised me as well.
Updated
Firstly, there is now a section for each Pixar movie, detailing any Pixarian voice work. As to not play favourites, Iāve tried to have every Pixarianās name in this section who has done some voice work on a Pixar film, no matter how big or small - gotta let them have their time in the sun! He he.
A couple of Ratatouille in-jokes, including the second appearance of the Pizza Planet truck (thanks to Mitch), as well as the dog from Up. The A Bugās Life section looks a lot healthier now - since there were no references before, he he. Check out some references I managed to find! The Toy Story and Toy Story 2 sections have had quite a few added, as well. A few to The Incredibles section, thanks to The Star Swordsman, who found a really obscure reference (that was new to me, anyway).
Please let me know of any spelling mistakes in the list, or anything else that needs to be brought to my attention that Iāve missed. Thanks again to The Star Swordsman and Mitch for their contributions!
Hey, Iāve kinda got one. I mean, I know the movie wasnāt in production at the time, so maybe it was more of a āthis thing inspired this later onā bit, but I still wanted to mention it.
Monsterās INC: The garbage processor. It spits out garbage cubes. Think about that for a second.
Yes, Iām an obsessive fangirl to be noticing this stuff, but if other people in this fandom can point out a Pizza Planet truck zooming by in a high speed scene, painted white, then perhaps Iām only as crazy as the rest of you. XD
You are welcome rachel. I will try to see if I can find more from TI later on. Iāll PM you when I find more stuff.
Hey uh, anybody else think Alās car in Toy story 2 is kinda reminiscent of Flo?
Wait, how do we know that dog is from Up? Did I miss something.
Anyways, I have a few corrections:
- WALL-Eās pet roach is called Hal.
- The "number behind Sulley isnāt 13 itās a B for basement, and thereās no A1 preceeding it anywhere. I wonder if A113 is in Monsters, Inc. at all!!
Also an addition in this picture: i25.tinypic.com/32zhm40.png
You can see teh word MENV in the truck, tahtās the name used in-house for Marionette.
Mmmmā¦ What do other people think of this? Would this count as a reference, or a just a coincidence?
I think thatās more of coincidence, but Iāll compare next time I do an update.
Brad Bird mentioned it in the Blu-Ray commentary for Ratatouille, apparently. If someone could confirm this, that would be great.
As for the corrections, thanks. Iāll change them next time I update.
Just a coincidence. Any garbage compactor would spit out cubes.
