The Incredibles BOOM Comic Book Series

It’s good to know that you guys are still pushing with the Unforgivables arc. I think this is the most exciting one yet. I hope to read it soon. But until then, I guess I’ll be patient about it.

Xerek’s master plan? Oh boy, why do I get the feeling that there is something epic is going to happen? And I’m also very excited to know about Bob and Helen’s history. Most of the time, i just imagine what it was like before they met. If I wasn’t mistaken, this was supposed to be an arc before huh? And a member of the family will suffer? This is the one that got me really apprehensive. I have no idea who it is. I want to predict that it’s Violet (since she’s the only character without a story arc about her), but I don’t know. Can’t wait.

Good to hear something about what happened. It’s just a shame that all the classic stuff Boom is reprinting right now is delaying new material. I’m kinda curious about Mezmerella’s “tragic backstory” briefly mentioned on a blog post a while back.

Also, speaking of Mez, she made it on a float for one of the temporary Pixar Pals Parade replacements at California Adventure. Great to see other divisions of the company acknowledge the comics

Hoping Marvel will come through and finish Unforgivables in that new wave.

I agree. I was getting really excited about it. And at least this kinda gives us the firmented hope that the series is not dead.

So, rewatching the NSA files on the Blu-Ray extras disc gave me one of those “Mask of the Phantasm scene where Bruce draws on the old photo of pre-accident Joker” moments.
Psycwave’s mind-control and psychics powerset, outfit and being done in by the same Omnidroid model that did in Everseer (who was the leader of the team she was on), who’s brain is already being used by the villains in the comic is has got me thinking whether she actually survived the incident and changed her identity and side. And considering that whole thing of Mezmerella having a tragic untold backstory…

This is only serving to upset me more that we haven’t heard a word from Marvel about Incredibles since that initial announcement.

Marvel has posted a date and cover for the start of their Magazine reprints of the series at the end of August.

I’m just wondering how frequently they’ll be putting these out. Haven’t seen anything yet on a second issue of their Cars reprint magazine.

I think they might do a reprint every month. At least, that’s what I hope. I’m pondering whether I should get this version or not.

First off, for not posting in so long-- Bad fan! BAD!!!

Secondly, incredible honor to have you here, Landry Walker! I’m very sorry if any of my reviews were harsh. I really do like the comics. I just like to give complete and honest reviews.

It’s an honor to have you with us! Welcome to Pixar Planet!

On to the comics, does anyone have any idea when they will be completed? I’m very sad I haven’t seen them in so long. I’d love to see the end of the story.

Bad news: The DIsney/Pixar Giant Size magazines they were reprinting Incredibles in alongside Toy Story, Cars and Muppets ended up getting canned. Marvel’s probably got other plans for hte material and licenses, but it’s very discouraging.

Marcio Takara’s also put up a few sample black and white pages from some of the unreleased issues, presumably getting into Xerek backstory.

Wow, that’s a bummer. :frowning: Those pages look fantastic, too. I really like the dynamic use of perspective.

It makes me sad to see the series canceled. I was actually pretty excited about these series.

That’s a shame! Those pages looked awesome.

I know. I really wanted to see where they were gonna go with it.

I can’t believe the BOOM comic book series was cancelled. I loved reading them and wanted the conclusion so bad. It’s a shame they stopped working on them.

Maybe Marvel could team up with IDW to do The incredibles/Ghostbusters dream crossover soon, Marvel and IDW did a crossover before with The New Avengers/Transformers once.

Hey, have any of you guys seen this: marciotakara.com/00_incred.htm ? It’s more preview ages from the comic. I like the last one with Violet in it, but it makes me wonder what the heck is going on…

Hey, I recently had a post up about the series where, while I WAS trying to be professional, I ended up slamming the series. So, here, I will be short, sweet, and to the point:

I did not like “The Incredibles Comic Series” because Bob was a jerk (as though he did NOT learn any lesson in the movie) and there were a few things out of cannon (like, in the prequel story it was shown that Violet CAN make her clothes disappear, while in the movie she is not able to do that yet).

However, there is 1 thing I did like: while some were confusing, the villains were interesting. Bomb Voyage, The Underminer (both back from the movie), Organa, Mezmerella, Futur10n, and Shifty were very admiral foes.

But I have seen Xerek’s original design (from when he was going to be the main villain of the movie) and he didn’t look that much older than Bob or Helen. Yet, in the series, he “looks” old, and yet it said he was Helen’s old boyfriend (I think it would have been funny if the writers had put in something about an “Age-Ray gone wrong” or something like that, which would have better explained his elderly appearance).

Also, Violet and Xander…seemed a bit overdone. I don’t know, maybe if they had put in a drama love triangle between them and Tony, it could have been better.

All-in-all, I say some things were good, but some things could be better.

I completely agree! I also personally found the comics I did get to read childish and very lame compared to the film. To be expected, I suppose.

Ah, that’s a bummer to hear, although it does make me feel slightly better about missing out on them. Are they still running?
