that’s not the Jessie I was expecting to see. The jessie in my local TRU has yarn for hair and I would say better proportion. I assumed she was the cheaper version before the tsc version. If I get to the store this wkend I will take a pic and put it up. I’m sure you have it in the US because you get everything before the UK.
I’m not sure which Jessie that might be, but the one in the review is definitely the new non-TSC Jessie (I already have her). The packaging is the same style as the new non-TSC Woody and Buzz. She has plastic hair, not yarn. The only version I know of that is still available at retail with yarn hair (other than the TSC version coming out tomorrow) is the older Disney Store version.
I’m not liking that the Disney store says their release date is JUNE 1st.

That is not the one that is currently available here in the US. I’m not sure, but I’m guessing that is an older version that is no longer manufactured. Maybe your TRU has old stock?
As I said, the one in the review is the exact same design as the one I purchased about a month ago at my TRU.
She’s pretty new stock, at least over here. I only noticed her a few weeks back. Strange one for sure.
Very strange indeed. If you have a chance, please take a photo of the packaging at the store. I am curious how it compares to the other new non-TSC packaging.

Interesting! This is the same doll that is available at my TRU, but not the same packaging. The one they have now is in a window box, like the review shows.
I’m not sure which one I like best? This one or the TSC version. They both look pretty good. I’m leaning toward the one below. I can’t decide which is more accurate.
Why do you care? Target and Toys R Us will have them tomorrow, and the Disney store is normally more expensive.
Amazon currently has Woddy for $39.99, Rex for $49.99, RC for $69.99, Aliens for $24.99.

The window box version is a talking version. What’s odd is that the one shown above also appears to be the same talking version, at least based on the blurbs on the package:

Just so you know, there is a version of that one that talks. I guess maybe they made some that didn’t talk.
Regional packaging? Maybe one was bilingual?
Anyways, I still don’t see where the alien squeaks in John Lasseter’s video.
Its not in the video itself, just the description. you have to click to the alien. but not the alien product page.
I haven’t seen any bilingual packaging (I’m sure it exists, just not in my area). It could be regional, or maybe they did add the window box versions later. I didn’t start buying the new Thinkway lines until after the first of the year, and the only open package version of Woody I’ve seen is the ragdoll version.
