I posted about this a few pages back. Apparentley, there is a chase version with Andy written on the foot. Does anyone know what the odds are?
They had a line that said “Are you ready for adventure in uncharted space?” so they were thinking about it at least… and they definately did miss a few of Woody’s lines (I’m pretty sure there was 7 to work from that were from the movie). I wish Pixar just told us the other two. Then again, I don’t think they gave Jessie any voicebox lines.

Going back to lamps, here’s what I found.
Nothing special, other than the fact that it’s a genuine Luxo lamp, but this is the only one I’ve seen with the distinctive red color.

This Woody, while doesnt even attempt to be anything like a normal Woody doll, has the poison in the waterhole line.

Edit: Okay, that first one, while its no replica, is the closest Ive seen to date.
I dont have 200 to spend on a lamp, at least not at the moment, do you know of anywhere more permanant I could go in the future to get this lamp?
As for the red one, meh. Aside from color that one’s got it all wrong. the head, lack of a base, its not even close.
Also, remember the lamp in Andy’s room isnt Luxo Jr, that’s the smaller lamp used in the logo, this is the parent lamp we’re talking about from the short.
By the way, we might want to move this discussion to the replica thread, seems more fitting than in the TSC thread.

Also, Kyle, question about you Luxo Jr. Lamp. How bright is the light and does it use an actual light bulb? Also, is the lamp removable? Please post more pics of various views, I’d really really appreciate it!
Is the lamp removable? Umm…yes and no. No in that its screwed to the base. yes in that you can remove it by unscrewing it from the bottom. but since this is more of a collectable and not a real desk lamp, it runs on batteries. so if you wanted it to still work, you’d have to have the know how to cut the wires, and move the battery pack from the base of the dvd case holder to underneith the lamp’s base and solder the wires back up. this was the only thing preventing me from doing it myself, as I dont have a soldering iron or used one before.
The lamp doesnt use a standard light bulb, but four small Led lights inside a plastic half dome thing.
Furley Ghost, the Andy variants were randomly inserted, pretty low number if I remember correctly.
On the lamp, there is an interview somewhere with John Lassetter talking about the one he had etc, I dont think it had a base either, thats something they added (Pixar)
Right, both lamps in the luxo jr short were custom designs to my knowledge, which is why there are none like them, unless someone can prove me wrong.

the tag at my TRU said 49.99 for jessie and lotso. What I found odd was originally i saw the tag for jessie but no lotso. I went in today and the jessie tag was gone and somewhere else on the shelf there was a lotso tag. Gosh im getting so anxious for this wave. I cant decide between lotso or bullseye for my next purchase.

Probably because the phrase “somebody poisoned the water well” isnt irrelevant anymore, as it was in the “woodys roundup” era. In todays times, that just reminds kids of terrorism I suppose.
This isn’t relevant to most of you guys on here but I was in my local Toys R Us in London checking to see if they had Potato Head (they didn’t) but I spoke with the assistant manager.
I asked if they knew when he was coming in, she said she didn’t have an exact date but that I should come back middle-end of June as Toy Story was going to be the feature wall (the big display near the enterance) for the summer and that the Toy Story selection will be and I quote “massive” . I asked how massive and she said really big and that the only line bigger instore would be Barbie, it is going on the feature wall and down the side of one aisle.
I had a look around and there was a few instore already. There was a large selection in the beach/pool range. They also had the entire TSC except Woody but they did have a standard on. There was also a standard Jessie and a large collection of the buddy packs.
I made a guess when I first joined this site that the UK would not see tsc related figures until the end of june or early July. I wouldn’t hold your breath on that mr p release date from play.com either. Although he is the only tsc figure that I have seen with a late may release date on other sites. Seeing as most thought the tsc range would be May 1st in the US and hasn’t appeared yet, I’m just gonna chill and save some money.
