Seeing as the ring pull is already wrong, would it be the time for thinkway to correct it. The point I was making was that could they have made the effort to make the figures more accurate for the re-release. I would love to see Woody with the prototype head. You yourself Kyle would rather his jeans were more faded. Yes their mass produced toys pushed as replicas but we do pay a premium for that. Would we buy the updated version or not? I know I would.
I emailed Thinkway about the different box of woody and they said there is only a box change and nothing is modified.

There is a new TSC Woody box? I haven’t seen/heard any talk about it. Are there photos somewhere?
There are comparison pics some 50 pages back er so, I cant be bothered to look though. but the new box has the new white TSC logo, and Woody is now in front of the name plate instead of behind it. I prefer the old.
I don’t consider a box change a re release, they just made a minor adjustment to the packaging. This whole line exists because of TS3 really, and we can all agree their world better than anything released before. and when it comes to things like wear and tear, consider that they weren’t trying to sell these pre worn, but exactly the way Andy might have if bought in the store.
of course, with Woody being as old as he is its unlikely he even bought his at the store, but lets just pretend he got him mint in the box some where. things like faded jeans falls under the category of Andy’s name on his boot. that stuff is up to us if we want to intentionally damage him in those ways. their only goal is to give us these toys as if they were brand new.
Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if the larger ring was yet another example of a avoiding a choking hazard.
Regarding the eyes, Woodbuzz101, I just now read your message, I thank you kindly, but today I just received both sets from Tommy here on the boards.
I will have them finished up within a day or two.
Regarding Woody: the neck collar bothers me too, but like Kyle pointed out, the model moves differently than fabric could. It CAN be adjusted more accuratley but would take alot of work. (un-seaming woodys collar, and ironing it flat, resew on, then it should look better, but theres alot of risk to f it up)
All right, so I emailed Thinkway to ask about when the toys were supposed to be released, and I figured while I was at it, I’d ask about the possibility of a Wave 3, and this is what I got back:

Our major retailers Disney, Target, Wal-mart and K-mart were all shipped Toy Story 3 products and it is up to them when the products are put out for sale.
Thank you for your suggestion on new characters. We will certainly consider as we have not finalized on Wave 3.

I am SO GLAD I saw this before ordering a TSC Lotso! YES!!! The one pictured looks to be exact, but without that talking BS!!! And I’m sure about $25 cheaper!

Interesting, Jenny says they haven’t finalized wave 3, which seems to imply that there IS a wave 3 to finalize. so it sounds like wave 3 is semi confirmed, they just don’t know who they’ll be doing exactly.
And cool to hear about the aliens, I think I’ll get the TSC ones afterall.
As for lotso, the cheaper one looks a bit different to me, like his fur is longer and shaggier. and its still accurate in proportions. especially in the mouth/muzzle.
Edit: also, the Thinkway site confirmed what I suspected, Bullseye has floppy ragdoll legs, no mention of a skeleton to stand on his own. so either he never had it, or the idea was scrapped.
To me they look exaclty the same, and I’m sure they actually are, because its more expensive to source fabric that looks “kind of” like it, rather than using the fabric they’ve already sourced. The lack of electronics and strawberry scent look to be the only differences.
BUT I didnt mean to post that here though, as this is the Collection thread, I’ve done enough unintenial derails hahaha

That Thinkway page is so appealing to my eyes. the layout showing the character, box, logo, certificate of authenticity, and toy itself is really pretty. Add Bo Peep, Hamm, and Slinky, and oh man.
Haha, anyway, the new aliens… it says they’re made of softer plastic… does this mean they squeak?! faints

Sorry, I probably should stop asking… but what’s the big deal about them being softer plastic?
Not much, but it does open the door to adding your own squeeker youself. Its also just a more accurate in texture. and his feet are darker blue which is more accurate.
If they are softer plastic, then they can squeak, but you’ll have to customize it by drilling (dremel) a hole into the sculpted squeaked, that would be the size circumference as a an actual squeaker (available in any penny store, in things, etc)
I’m going to check out the Target single glow ones, and if a “mod” can be done, I’ll purchase it and make a vid, etc to help others. (unless someone already has?)
That non collection Lotso looks to have an evil expression… I like it!
Hmmmmmm, this is strange. For some reason my local Target just removed all of their Toy Story merchandise, even the ones that they already had in stock. They don’t know when it will come in stock either and none of the other nearby city’s stores have any either. Guess I’ll have to use TRU until then.
