Thinkway's Toy Story Collection

We do need to find out if this is an issue of quality control or a design flaw. otherwise it would be like asking for a replacement Woody because the one you got had an opened mouth. haha

I saw the TS3 version of Woody and while his head seems to be pretty much the same as the Collection version the materials of his clothes are much lower quality and he just didn’t look as polished. Also he has a yellow belt buckle and not gold.

Here’s another Bullseye pic from someone over on MiceChat.

The eyes don’t seem quite as bad on this one, but that’s just my take on it.

Those are figures put out by Palisades a few years back.

Have you tried twisting the eyes? They’re pretty secure, but you can move them a little bit. I also squeezed down on the head to adjust its shape ever so slightly.

Yeah the QC on these Thinkway Toys is a huge disappoint. I’ve put down now over a hundred dollars on these collectibles and the only one I didn’t have QC issues with is Buzz and the Woody doll I bought for my nephew.

I haven’t tried anything with Bullseye yet because I’m afraid to actually do more harm to it then good. But I’ll give it a try, I still have the receipt for it so I could still return it if I did mess anything up.

Ok so I think I might need to take my Jessie back. She works fine in toy mode, but if she is in interactive mode she goes bonkers telling you that you are being too loud over and over again.

Kyle, looking at these pics I would say it’s a case of bad qc. Let’s face it, as good as the Thinkway customer service is, it has too be to make up for the problems they get. Qc has always been a problem with them.

I too think that it is an issue of quality control, but if it were a design flaw, it would be interesting in that we would want one with bad qc (that puts the eyes the right way).

The $50 woody just has more paint detail, stripes on his “hair”, a gold instead of yellow belt buckle, and gold instead of yellow spurs. His hat also has the dark band, and the cheaper one does not. The first and last qualities are movie accurate, the second one is actually not, and the third one I think is. Also, he has “talkback mode” where he has a voice sensor and responds if you talk to him. This can be turned on and off if you want.

The difference between the two Woodys you showed at the bottom is that the first one Is just the version that replaced the second one. It has more features: a sensor that lets him know it his hat is on or off, and his hat has the band around it but it is the same color as the rest, not darker like it should be. The second one is the older version and has the more accurate body while the newer one has the better hat.

And yes there are three versions being produced currently, but if you count the one that the Playtime Woody replaced since it’s still available in many places then there’s four.

Actually, that’s not correct. The Playtime Sheriff version has a light sensor in his head, so he can tell when his hat is on or off. He also features several different phrases not found on any other version. Technically, there are currently four different scale-sized versions of Woody on the market right now:

  1. TSC Woody - gold buckle/spurs, enhanced paint details on hair and hat, fancy buttons, talk back mode, 50+ phrases

  2. Playtime Sheriff Woody - Hat sensor, yellow buckle/spurs, plain hair and hat, plain buttons, sings, 25+ phrases

  3. Talking Woody - Yellow buckle/spurs, plain hair and hat, plain buttons, 20+ phrases

  4. Rag doll Woody - Yellow buckle/spurs, plain hair and hat, plain buttons, no voice box or pull string (not even a “fake” one)

There’s also ragdoll Sheriff Woody. As I’m informed, he’s the same as the non-TSC talking figure, just with no talking features whatsoever.

And there’s even another Woody still being made in the US, and it’s a variation of the original Thinkway Woody. They appear to be in small orders, though, only being sold at Disney Stores to my knowledge. The head is the same, however, the body is vastly improved, especially giving him proper joints. The voice is also noticeably clearer.

so…what woody is the most worth to buy? compared with his accuracy and ‘PRICE’ ?

and…is there any picture that can explain where is the playtime sheriff woody and talking woody , ROBODAD? could you please show me the box?

He’s in my list (#4).

That’s the tough question. Either the Talking Woody or the TSC Woody would be a great addition to your collection. The TSC version has the more accurate paint apps on the head and hat, but technically, the buckle on the TSC version is wrong (it really should be yellow, not gold). If you can afford it, I would get the TSC version, since it is more accurate in more details. But if you can’t afford that one, the regular Talking Woody version is still very good.

The pictures you already posted show both the Playtime Sheriff version and the regular Talking version.

Regular Talking Woody:

The major downfall of non TSC Woodys is that the legs are always put in wrong. the boots always face in random directions. this is really bad if you get a stand or something . he dosent look good standing at all. even when you try and turn them the right way, it makes his legs look weird.

Unfortunately, it seems that quality control is becoming a widespread Thinkway issue, so what you say is true, but it isn’t necessarily limited to the non-TSC Woody.

It happens alot more to the non TSC ones. trust me, I own both, the TSC one’s legs are almost perfect while the non TSC ones are way off. ive seen the same with alot of other non TSC ones too.

I know. I actually own all four . I did have to check through a few to get a good one. But with the Jessie and Bullseye problems, it is clear that something is up with Thinkway’s manufacturing process, and it isn’t something good.

I’m definately getting the TSC Bullseye whenever he shows up around here but does anyone have the $29.95 Disney store Bullseye from Thinkway?
Just wondering your thoughts on this one.
