Thinkway's Toy Story Collection

woow its cool, you have it all…can you show me some photo that captured they all together?so i can compare it by just a simple viewing

I think this looks really good. If the eyes were lowered just a bit, it would be perfect.

I still don’t understand how a six year-old little girl could rip off Playtime Woody’s head.

Bad QC perhaps? Anyway Bullseye is looking to be my favourite TSC item.

Whoops, didn’t notice. Here’s number 5, by the way:

The original Woody was definately too fat, but they took it a bit too far.

A tad unrelated, but if anyone’s looking for the first edition jointed Woody, I’m pretty sure this is it:

I haven’t looked into variations that much, but the fact that he has the badge with the balls on the end makes it a '95 Woody. The difference between the bendy and ragdoll Woody is that the original has a smaller pullstring and spurs, which this one has.

I don’t think this is a spoiler but just in case Don’t read unless you watch the movie

[spoil] Toy story 3 revealed alot about the slinky toy, first of all his neck is made out of vinyl or something like that (I’m not a toy expert =D) It allows his head to bounce up and down. Also during the day care scene, he fell like a rag doll, i found that interesting cause the means his legs would need a ball joint
I wonder if its even possible to make him like that[/spoil]

Yes, I have noticed that since the first movie, his legs do have articulation in the movie, but in real life he is nothing but plastic. For the collectors they should release a collection version of Slinky with the legs, durable plastic body (Or i think it was wood it the movie), and a neck that can turn.

His head/neck appeared to be a bobble head almost.

But I think they took liberties when they made him go completely limp like that. that clearly wasn’t his default state in the other 2 movies. they only did that to create more contrast visually between his alive and toy modes. in real life I don’t think you could do that kind of thing without altering his look.

An “update” of sorts for any Australian collectors.

I contacted Funtastic who are the distributors for Thinkway in Australia about future releases of Thinkway products and I was informed that there are no planned future releases.

That means, we’re only getting Collection Woody, Collection Buzz, Collection Rex, Collection RC, Collection Army Men and the Alien 3-pack from Thinkway at this time. We will not be receiving the “non-collection” Thinkway Rex, Twitch, Chunk or Sparks from Thinkway. We also won’t be receiving the “collection” Jessie, Bullseye or Lotso.

However, it appears that Mattel are going to continue distributing their “deluxe” (but not “collection”) range of figures in Australia and we’ll at least be seeing a Lotso (since he is in Big W’s latest catalogue). And they have already released their Jessie down under.

When it comes to characters like Bullseye, Rex, Twitch, Chunk, Sparks, etc it appears our only options will be the “basic” Mattel versions which generally aren’t in scale, but I hope we will see some “deluxe” versions of at least some of these characters (including Bullseye - other than the Bullseye in the two-pack with Jessie) from Mattel.

Kind of off topic, but is there french on anyone else’s boxes? I just bought Lotso TSC and noticed some things were in french (the sides). I’m curious if this is just a Canadian thing or not (Bought him from Canada).

No, i remember his back legs would spread apart while frozen sitting down back in 2.

So I tried moving the eyes on Bullseye, like what was suggested and it worked. I tried to be very careful not rip the eyes out and was able to give the eyes a nice slant. The eyes were easier to adjust from the bottom, the top of the eye is a little harder to move but I was able to adjust it a tad. I’m definitely a lot happier with his look now.

AFTER

BEFORE

Our boxes in America have spanish/english
I think it is a Canadian thing

I agree with you Kyle
It would completely ditch his whole “Pullstring toy” gimmick cause he will keep falling

My local Disney store (in the USA) gets Canadian boxes, with English and French text prominently displayed on the front. In other stores that sell the collection (like Target or Toys R Us), the text on the boxes is entirely in English.

It probably could be done, although it would just be pointless… the whole point is for Slinky to roll around, but this looks like it would just make him harder to stand up.

I bought Rex at a Disney Store in the US and his box is in English & French.

Oh cool that’s interesting. I didn’t know american merchandise had spanish/english languages on them!

When I was watching Toy Story last week I paid close attention to Woody’s belt buckle and it seems to be yellowish gold not yellow.

Doesn’t the collectors Woody have a gold-ish belt buckle and star? That’s how it looked online.

It definately wasn’t yellow. It’s a much paler color, however, I’m not sure if it was supposed to be gold. I can’t really tell, but the badge also being the same color throws you off a little. I would love if they actually made a metal badge.

BTW, the stand for Woody was recycled from a Toy Story 2 Room Guard.

I would love to use the stand that came with the Buzz Room Guard, except the TSC Buzz doesn’t have holes in his feet.
