Thinkway's Toy Story Collection

TSC off topic BUT BEWARE the Ken and barbie doll clothes easily tear without even touching them.

I’m not sure i understand. is that sarcasm that i sense?

well what i meant was that be very careful with barbie because her fabric can tear easily if its played with and Ken clothes (shorts) come off. I didnt mean to be sarcastic.

The Toys R Us in Tustin (nearest to me) has a Bullseye! A few weeks ago I went to the one in Mission Viejo and found two Bullseyes there.

I was referring to the fact they dont have toys from the new seasons, just the original one that i watched way back when. lol

To be fair, these aren’t just toys that have been warming shelves for 15 years, their brand new sculpts and such. loads more accurate.

I bought the new megazord they made, which, while worse in many ways due to being cheaper, is better proportioned, more streamlined than the original toy.

Most of the new line is crappy though.

And now Im done derailing my thread.heh

Re: Aussie Collectors

As you know, it was the start of Target’s toy sale today. I was unable to track down a Thinkway “Collection” Jessie at any of the stores (including the store which I was at when it opened its doors) I tried, BUT contrary to what is advertised in the catalogue, they are doing rainchecks.

I was advised that they wouldn’t be receiving more stock until November, but since Target appears to be the only store stocking Thinkway’s “Collection” Jessie in Australia, I guess I’m prepared to wait (and wait and wait).

I was also chasing the Thinkway three-pack of Aliens but they were sold out. The Ken/Barbie pack wasn’t sold out, but they only had the “standard” Ken - not the new screen-accurate Ken. Not sure if either item was on sale.

Whats peoples advise on thinkway’s chunk and twitch ?

should i add them to my TSC?

at the risk of having to re-purchase if they come out in Wave 3 ?

Yes because if they come out in wave 3 they might have electronics that make them cost more so you should get them while they’re cheap.

Hahaha LOL, So very true. I wouldnt buy a TSC twitch and chunk anyway. they are cool right now. i dont see what they could add to them to make them any better. Maybe Twitch could shoot purple coolaid from his mouth and make screeching noises like a real Hollywood bug! if he did that i might buy TSC Twitch 8D

Right thanks for your opinions guys.

Now to find them somewhere in the UK…

They aren’t online at all so looks like I’ve got to go to London :\

i got the Chunk and Twitch from Oxford st Disney store a couple of days ago, and id say the price we have to pay for the smallest of toys over here makes these two well worth the £20 each.

Only trouble is theyve been added to Bullseye, Jessie and Mr.Potato head locked away for the kids for xmas !!!

Also picked up the Lotso plush from disneystore as i thought it looked much nicer than the TSC version

It seems like the TSC toys are not to be played with because they are too heavy and easily get scratched or ripped.

It seems like the TSC toys are not to be collected because they always fall off their stand.

i am dissapointed with Jessie and Bullseye cause Jessie is too light, falls off stand, and doesnt have enough hair( she is shaved in the back of the head. Bullseye way to heavy and near damn impossible to pose with woody and jessie.

But u know what. its okay, i worked very hard to find these toys.

Do you have earth quakes or something? Ive never had Jessie fall off her stand. its not built like Woody’s so its a huge improvement.

Jessie isnt really lacking in hair length but just needs her hair thinned out, which some have done. you can unbraid her hair and cut enough so that her pony tail is thinner, then rebraid. Im not brave enough to try yet, but I probably will eventually. if her heir is too short its not by a whole lot.

And how can you say Bullseye is too heavy? that little battery pack makes up a very small part of him.

TSC Jessie is by far the least impressive to me. The head seems too big. Jessies head looks much smaller relative to woodys. Her hair as said before also isn’t great. And her smile looks less than ideal

I also think the collection in general is bigger than “scale” but like their sizes. Relatively they are spot on. And maybe even for the 3rd movie they are spot on.

However, in the original Toy story, i always though Buzz was an actual Action figure like 7-8 inches. Whereas woody was closer to TSC buzz size. Like imagine the scene where scud sees them running after the car, he can barely see them. Imagine something the size of TSC woody running after the car, who couldn’t see that?

John Lasseter says Buzz is supposed to to be more like the 12" action figures of the 1970’s- early 1980’s (the original G.I. Joes were in this scale, for instance). Everything in this line is set to that scale (and the sculpts use the digital data from Toy Story 3), so if the toys look a little big, you have John to blame. At first I thought they were overly large as well, but seeing the John Lasseter videos on Youtube made around the time of the first wave’s release cleared all that up.

@ Kyle : i just bought the $30 rex yesterday a tru. he’s bigger than buzz but smaller than woody

I know, which is too small.

I posted a comparison pic of the tsc rex and the 30.00 rex
hes not bigger than buzz unless you push his legs real back

I have an issue with my Buzz. His green light wing is busted. There’s a crack in the glass and the wing won’t go back in. Anyone have any advice?
