Correct. the Disney store Hamm (the one you are talking about) is available in the online store, but currently is sold out: disneystore.com/disney/store … &langId=-1
but there are some on ebay…some are at a good price (the same as the ds + shipping)
Guys, do you think toy stores will keep restocking Toy Story Thinkway toys???
I have NOT seen any movement lately in regards to Thinkway toys.
I’m expecting another round (perhaps the last batch) of Bullseyes to hit stores, but I’m starting to doubt it.
Only Mattel seems to be restocking their versions in a consisten basis. Although, I have never seen the MADE FOR EACH OTHER KEN AND BARBIE pack again, since like 6 months ago.
Thanks God I went ahead and purchased Jessie and Lotso while I still could hand-pick the best among a dozen. I was going to wait a little longer, but I noticed that few items were coming in lately. I dont think toy stores will be restocking those, mainly because I doubt Thinkway is still making them.
The only toy I could imagine that Thinkway is still producing would be Bullseye. If they are not, they are just stupid, because Bullseye is a fast seller. Anyway, since I dont know if toy stores are getting a new batch in the future, I went ahead and purchased two online. They arrived this week. The quality control on both was fine. I had no problems with them. Bullseye nose was a little dirty on both toys, but I expect to clean that out without any hassle.
Anyway, because of my fears, I went today to TOYSRUS to purchase a Chunk. If they did stop manufacturing these I might have a harder time getting the following:
RC (I’m waiting for a price drop on amazon or something)
REX (I already own him, but I want a second one to open and display)
MADE FOR EACH OTHER accurate Ken pack
I would still like to see new waves of Jessie, Lotso and Bullseye to see if find better ones on stores, that way I could return/exchange for a more perfect one.
So far, the only IN-SCALE toy I have decided not to buy is SPARKS. He is way too inaccurate for me. I might get him if TRU does another online BOGO sale, but I highly doubt it.
I dont think they’ll outright stop making them any time soon, but I do think we should expect things to slow down a lot. stores need the shelf space for the next movie franchise thats about to come out or has come out. its a circle of life type of thing. Some stores might stop stocking them altogether. others will probably restock, but only order a few per shipment as more time passes. But I think we can expect things to pick back up in November when the TS3 blu ray hits.
but your definitely going to see more of the cheaper Think-way and Mattel stuff more than the TSC ones. while this collection is great for collectors and kids alike, its not the best money maker due to the cost.
hey guys do youll ever have problems getting woody to respond to your voice. he never responds when i yell and sometimes dosent respond when i speak in a normal voice. also its not his batteries because i put in a fresh pair. also does mess up woodys neck badly. any help would be appreciated
Hmm… That sounds like a non-functioning microphone to me. I dont have that problem with mine but I guess you could get a replacement woody by contacting the shop from which you purchased him. You could also contact Thinkway Toys if you’re in the States or in Canada. My Woody sometimes doesnt respond to me but always responds to my TSC Buzz. He’s got some character.
yep it does, i guess everyone on the forum has been complaining about this issue since I’ve been following up, and that’s quite a while now. I don’t use the stand that Woody came with, made one out of thick wires and it’s doing ok for now. I’ve never seen a store sell doll stands so I don’t have a chance of getting one. Don’t know why Thinkway packaged him with that awful stand. They’re already getting quite a bit for their products, might as well have included a proper stand.
Would it be possible for you to post a couple Before and After polish pics? I’d really like to see how much of an improvement it makes. Unfortunatly, I don’t have Buzz yet, so I can’t really help. But I would suggest trying to remove the helmet parts if you can. I’d prevent getting polish on the surrounding area, and make it easier to get all the places.
Well I’m not taking Buzz apart, I’ll just cover him up.
The thing is I’m not sure if the polish doesn’t work, the scratches are too great, or if I need to polish it several times. I’m not sure if it’s just making more scratches or not.
If you are not happy with the polish, i’d say maybe another coat. But to avoid scratches, use a soft brush. Check the packaging on the polish, it may say to put more than one coat on.Just take your time with it, and play with the helmet until you get it to where you really like the look of it.
This probably makes a lot more sense in this thread…
looks like I just missed the opportunity to get my pair of accurate Potato Head eyes from Tyler, so, is anyone thinking of taking over production of those?
Because honestly, I’m sick of owning the bastard son of Mr Potato head and Smurphette.
believe me, had I the money and resources, I’d make them myself, But as that’s not in the cards, I see no other option.
(I know we’re not allowed to do buisness through the forums, I don’t see why this subject would be taboo, though)
I just got the Bucket O Soldiers. They are brilliant. I also got Slinky who is not made by Thinkway but by Poof Slinky (the people that make original Slinks). I cut off the strings on his face and in between his body. He can stretch really far now. Also as a side note for the soldiers, be careful when putting the parachutists in the bucket if you are not displaying them because if you have taken them out of the baggies and not wrapped the parachute around the soldier tightly, the two of them can get tangle together which takes forever to untie .
Deluxe Jessie’s hair is rubbish. My daughter has had her less than a week and it’s a right mess already. Her old Jessie, which she’s had about 3 or 4 years, whilst a bit battered still has decent intact hair and probably cost me half the price
How has she been playing with it? While these are toys, they are built more for gentle play and display purposes, rather than rough play, which is why they have the less expensive $35 line that is built more for durability and withstanding playtime.
Can someone instruct me on how they used Novus Scratch Polish on their Buzz Helmet? Because I follow the instructions it came with and it doesn’t seem to work.
For the Novus polish, you will need to use the # 2 polish to remove slight scratches, the # 3 for deep scratches. Use a soft cloth and buff the area gently in a circular motion. After using the #3, use the # 2 the same way. Finally, use the number one for the gloss shine. It takes a fair amount of work rubbing out the plastic and you do not want to press down hard or you can cause more scratching. Never use anything but a soft cloth with the Novus products.
