Perhaps he was talking about the 1st version of the soldiers that were released with inaccurate sculpts and no Certificate of Authenticity?
this is what i plan to do at one point:
i was thinking you could buy the cheep woody rag doll (same head sculpt) and then make a mold and casting and then work with some clay and recreate the closed mouth…or you could buy the rag doll and heat it up and close the mouth…

no problem…but with melting the rag doll woody, i would research on melting/bending plastics first (obviously) and also the rag doll woody dose not have the hair line marks painted on his head (just a plain brown).
I think the only way it can be done and look decent would be to recast the entire head and change the sclupt that way.
What about changing heads with a cheaper version of woody? I know its probably something you don’t want to do to a $50/ £50 item, but I guess it could be another alternative???
Cheap or expensive I seriously don’t see anyone successfully pulling off a mod of the head itself.
Alright guys I need some help on some things right now.
First of all, what is everyone using as stands for their woody and Jessie? Can you give me a name and where to buy them?
Second, So far I have TSC Buzz, Woody, and Rex, Japanese Prospector and Bullseye, DS Hamm and 1999 bucket of soliders. What do you recommend I get next?

TSC or Target Aliens?
I think the TSC Aliens are better as they come with the certificate and all 3. Are there any other differences, though? (Like does the TSC Aliens glow in the dark, and which ones are you supposed to put the squeaker in so he squeaks when you squeeze him?)
They’re basically the same molds and everything (the only obvious difference being, as you said, the Target ones glow in the dark). I’m pretty sure the Target ones would be softer, but don’t quote me on that (there have been claims of certain numbers of “soft” varieties in both sets). Any one can be modified to have a squeaker.
Thanks. I also decided my next purchases are going to be TSC Jessie, TSC Aliens, TSC Potato Head, TSC Lotso, and regular Slinky.
Does anyone have any adivice for the stand issue? Or is using the stand they come with okay and won’t damage the product?
I’ve heard nothing about Jessie so far, but I would get a replacement myself to match Woody’s.
As far as the stand is concerned, I wouldn’t use the ones they come with, Jessie or Woody, as over time they dent the neck, and could eventually cause irreversible damage. I don’t have a specific name for the stand, as it didn’t have anything listed that I could see, but basically, if you go to a Michaels, which is where I found mine, or other craft store like that, go to the doll section, and they should have a good selection of stands in various sizes and materials. It’s all a matter of personal preference, but I chose the wooden one with the metal clip as it seemed to be the sturdiest, and it hasn’t let me down. I have purchased one for Woody but I don’t yet have one for Jessie. I will be getting it soon though, as they are much more reliable stands than the ones they come with. Hope that helps.
Honestly, Jessie’s stand is fine, neck damage wise. it doesn’t seem to hurt it at all. probably because its so thin comapared to woody’s or something. What bugs me more is the facf that theres no room for her pony tail to go but straight out. looks odd.

Really? Mine must be a little tighter or something, because it looked like my Jessie was starting to get the dents, but it was only on the top corners of the stand clasp, not the whole thing like with Woody. The ponytail thing bothers me too, so I think just to be safe I’ll stick with getting a second one. Right now I have Buzz holding her like in the garbage can scene, and he’s wearing her hat, so he also looks slightly Spanish.
