Thinkway's Toy Story Collection

OMG ME TOO also i noticed his nose and moustahce moved deferently from each other…a little…i’m almost sure. Anyway on a side note i want this spud so bad i would trade in my toy story collection buzz for it, and no i’m not crazy. :open_mouth:

wow he looks awesome. im definetly getting him. but 2 things though did anyone notice the peg i his hat and another is does his moustache seperate from his nose. im thinking it does casue you only get lke a split second view when his parts shoot off. but again no bog deal im definetly going to buy it

Yeah, it would be important for him to have a removable mustache since he does have it taken off in Toy Story 2.

The TSC Mr. Potato Head is a gorgeous! I’m really pleased with the way the eyes came out, the ears, mouth and especially the separate shoes.

I really love the packaging on this toy! When I first heard of a Toy Story Collection Potato Head I was really unsure how they might be able to handle the exclusive packaging, but it’s great to see how it plays an homage to Playskool’s Potato Head. I hope that John Lasseter decides to do another set of interviews for these new toys. That would be awesome.

The Toy Story Collection toys are getting better and better with each new release. But why aren’t they planning a Slinky Dog?!

I don’t think it’s a homage really since the Playskool logo is in that screenshot. I think they would still have to be involved with it somehow since they make the actual toys.

Even better then! In that case I’m extremely glad they were able to strike some sort of partnership together and not have to go through any copyright infringement like the Luxo Jr. lamp.

Maybe that was one of the reasons why he was being delayed.

You know what i really love?! The fact that he had a commercial SPECIFICALLY dedicated to him alone like RC! HE REALLY IS SPECIAL!!! :smiley: :astonished: I can’t wait for him and to hear him say “Hey there buddy, what’s up”. I’ve always wanted him to say that to me :smiley: .

Hi I´m new here, but I´ve been reading this forums since august!
I´m not a great collector but I like to be informed.
Recently I´ve ssen on eBay a new version of Jessie from Mattel.
I´ts look really nice and very acurate! hope that the thinkway collection´s version cold be more acurate at the end, but actually this one looks great!
Her torso had the perfect sice! Finally she´s not fat!

I think in order, the order in accuracy now is:

Mattel > thinkway (cheap version) > Hasbro > Disney Store Version > Toy story 2 versions…

that´s the new Jessie for the disney Store:

Actual Thinkway´s version:
I really like the sculp.

wow, what is the world coming to that the Mattel version is more accurate than the Thinkway ones? at least in the face, and waist size.

I’m really hoping that TSC one was just a prototype that will change, because if that’s the final one I’m going to be really torn as to which one I want to get now. they all have their pros and cons.

is the Mattel one in scale though? do we know?

Also, the second to the last one looks like she’s had a brow lift. lol

Like Woody, Mattel Version is not as tall as Thinkway´s version, but I thik it´s ok. They are smaller. That´s Jessie´s Info:

This NEW ELECTRONIC Jessie is just like in the movie.

She’s approximately 36cm tall 14", and is in Mint Condition in her original box.

MATTEL Toy Story Electronic Talking Figure Jessie is the rootin’est, tootin’est cowgirl in town and Sheriff Woody’s number-one sidekick on the Woody’s Roundup TV Show.

Pull string on back for sounds and phrases:

* Yeeeee hawww!
* Sweet mother of Abraham Lincoln!
* Yodelay heehoo!
* Okay, cowboy!
* That critter needs help!
  • Figure cannot stand alone.

Requires 2 “AAA” batteries (included).

Package Size: approx. 38 x 20.5 x 10 cm

Model Number: R555

I have found a few pre-sale sites, but has anyone seen the wave two collection series on shelves yet?

This is kinda interesring, according to a commenter on this video (and just looking at the buzz in the video) there is a second wave version of TSC Buzz that doesnt move its head.
youtube.com/watch?v=XdaUSA-okEM

Wonder why they took it out. Maybe to spend more time on quality control?

Oh no! I still haven’t bought a Buzz, and I want a moving-head one. How will I know the difference when I buy it?

Im not sure theres been any differences noticed in packaging. Maybe theres a UPC code or something to look for but Id imagine it would be pretty difficult.

                                 If you press one of his display buttons, his head should move if it is a moving head one...

Does his Demo mode do that? If so then yeah that should do the trick then. I forgot about the try me hole.

I didn’t know that they stopped making Buzz’s head move, but thankfully I already bought one of the ones that do (weird that they would make a change like that since I’ve found no problem with it whatsoever). I also know about the issue with the Green Army Men buckets where the quality of the soldiers is different because there’s a bucket with no certificate in it, so I’m glad I got the good version of that as well.

Really, the only really “off” issue I really have with the collectors series Buzz Lightyear is that the wings are not large enough to match the screen piece.

I know they say they have matched these up to the screen pieces, but the collector series does not match exactly in certain proportions or in with the facial expressions. The facial is not all that bad, but they need to get the body proportions correct, that is really a necessity.

I would love to sit on the toy crew that work with the designs on these because as much as they note how much care and accuracy has gone into these designs, they are missing some pretty basic issues that would not be costly to correct. If Pixar really does care about this franchise as much as they say they do, they need to take just a bit more effort for what is suppose to be the ultimate collector series pieces.
There are a lot of little issues in the series so far, which do add up to quite a bit to take notice to on a whole. That’s a shame as these are great pieces, they could be outstanding with a bit more real care and detail in their works.

That is a surprise from Pixar, usually they will do what it takes to get things done right, they are just a bit off target with what they have done so far. Good enough to get by, but I thought Pixar was beyond that mentality of production.

what exactly if off about the body proportions? Can you point to anything specific? like the shin’s being too long or something? I know what you mean about the wings, but I think they did the best they could with that. the rest of him looks spot on proportion wise though to me, and I usually have an eye for these things.
