I wouldn’t say he would never be produced again. It’s unlikely, but if they make a Mrs. Potato Head, they may bring Mr. Potato Head back. Very unlikely though.
I have 2 Toy story Collection Buzz & Rex (picture only shows one of each) BNIB that I’m looking to sell. I originally bought these for my boys as an investment but have since decided that money could go on other things. I’m in New Zealand so bear in mind shipping could be quite high depending on your location.
The market place is pretty small in my country for these types of items and I’m not comfortable using Ebay now they have introduced the buyer protection scheme as I feel it heavily disadvantages international sellers so I thought I would give here a shot. Would prefer to sell in one lot for convenience but am open for offers if you want to pm me. Otherwise I’m open for suggestions for an alternative marketplace to sell these which are fair on international sellers.
Used an old photo but am happy to take some better shots once I get them out of storage.
thx for the info, but all the oher woodys ive had never had that problome. i ad the original run woody, and that problem never ensued. wqeird. it just annoys me.
Hey guys, I recently e-mailed Thinkway Toys about the Toy Story Collection:
[i]Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we currently do not have any plans to add new characters to the Toy Story Signature Collection line. Signature Collection Rex and Buzz Lightyear with utility belt was last sold in 2010 and we manufacture by orders only so supply of toys depends on the retailers.

The part that I bolded in their response gave me an idea: Why don’t we have a large storm of collectors send e-mails to stores like ToysRus and Disney Store to show our interest in more toys?
Since Thinkway only manufactures to retailers if they show interest, our e-mails could compel these stores to re-release the rest of the Toy Story Collection. What do you guys think?
Actually a better response than the people who are quick to pounce on Thinkway for their hard-to-find products. Definitely worth a shot; there’s nothing to lose in stating your interest for Toy Story Collection toys at those major retailers (IMO Disney Store is probably the best shot).
Yeah, I feel that telling the retailers what we want would make more sense in the long run than shouting at the suppliers. Now all we need is more support…
I also went with TRU since they still sell a majority of the Toy Story Collection.
I have some more underwhelming news. I previously e-mailed both Disney Store and ToysRus about the Toy Story Collection…this is what I received:
Note: I e-mailed ToysRus about the TSC Rex, Utility Belt Buzz, Dolly, and Buttercup and put in something along the lines of there is demand of these guys online
[i]Thank you for contacting Toys “R” Us regarding the availability of the Toy Story’s product. Those are popular items, and I can certainly understand your disappointment that they are currently out of stock.
There are a few suggestions I can make to help you locate this item:
Your first option is to elect to be notified when the specific Toy Story item comes back in stock. If you are interested in this option, please go to the product details page for the item and click on the “Email Me When Available” link, which is located on the right side of the page. Please note that high-demand items may sell out again very quickly, and that this is only a notification for your convenience and does not ensure the product will be available for order.
Your next option is to check with your local Toys “R” Us store to see if they have the item available for purchase. I have included our Store Locator link below to help you find your closest store - just copy and paste it into your browser.
Another option is to continue checking our website periodically. We do our best to ensure that we have the hottest toys and best items in stock, and we will update our website as soon as we receive additional shipments into our distribution center.
Thank you again for contacting Toys “R” Us. We value your business and look forward to serving you in the future!
Sincerely,
Kenneth C. 3021

and
[i]We are delighted to have received your recent email and we appreciate
your interest in DisneyStore.com. Thank you for your interest in Disney
Store and in the release of Toy Story Collection Dolly and Toy Story
Collection Buttercup. Regrettably information for the release of this
information is not available to us at this time. However, please visit
our website at DisneyStore.com and view The Toy story toys that are
available for purchase at this time.
Please do not hesitate to contact us at (800) 328-0368 if you have
further questions. We look forward to future opportunities to be of
service to you.
So just generic responses from both. The only way they can request more orders for these characters are through more e-mails like these rather than the constant bombardment of e-mails sent to Thinkway.
