I just got lucky on Amazon. I’m hoping that Toy Story That Time Forgot’s Dinosaur focus might prompt a re-release of TSC Rex and a new wave of toys featuring Trixie and the other Battlesaurs.
Same here. I really want a Rex and Trixie mainly. It seems like we’re getting spoiled with not only the new Disney Pixar Collection line by Thinkway, but this too. I hope Trixie has removable armor, if she comes with armor as we see in the poster. I don’t know if my Toys R Us will have enough shelf space for these though, as the the aisle that the Pixar stuff is in is almost full due to all their unsold Despicable Me 2 toys. Hopefully they’ll get rid of them or put them somewhere else though.
I know right, I’m amazed by the fact that Despicable Me 2 toys are still available. By late October/early November, the trailer for TSTTF will be up and Thinkway will preview their new toy line.
I really hope that after the trailer, people will come back to the forums for at least a little bit. I can remeber when Toy Story 3 came out and the forum was very popular. Now, hardly anybody’s on here. Hopefully more people will come because we’ll have something to talk about
This is pitiful. While I will admit the designs seem cool, it’s such a waste to make ANOTHER Woody and Buzz instead of other relevant Toy Story characters. I think it’s time for Disney to hand the manufacturing liscense to someone else…
Dear Thinkway Toys - With the upcoming short, and the announcement that you would produce some toys for it, I expected a Buzz or Woody version. I did not expect this to be the only toys in your line. Put out a movie accurate Trixie and I’ll gladly add these to my collection. Neglect your collectors and I will buy neither.
Thinkway really did it this time. I e-mailed them about the line yesterday, this was the reply:
This is probably cements the fact that the toy deisigners at Thinkway are ignorant to the demand of fans. I really wish Mattel made full-sized figures since they are the closest things we will get for the other toys in the short. The fact that they thought it would be a great idea to create toys for Woody and Buzz, who aren’t even the central characters in the special, amazes me. I would have been satisfied with just Trixie and Reptilius but this is pathetic. I guess that’s it for any shred of hope, guys.
Thinkway Toys had the potential to produce the most accurate Toy Story toys to date. Instead, they decided to give collectors and other fans the finger and produced cheaper versions of Woody, Buzz, and Jessie related to the toons and specials. Other people will soon catch on to this trend and avoid their products like the plague. If you bought one cheaper Buzz Lightyear, you’ve bought them all.
I REALLY hope someone takes the Toy Story merchandise license from them.
You don’t have the numbers to back up any claims of the demand. They’ve been at this for a long time, they probably have a better idea of what they’re doing than any of us could. And for all we know they aren’t even the ones calling the shots. It could be Disney.
They might just be waiting til Toy Story 4 to capitalize on Trixie.
It’s not the lack of Trixie (esp with 4 on the horizon) that’s odd to me
The Hawaain vacation Line ended up clearanced out and didn’t sell. So why do the same thing with time forgot. It seems smarter to just don’t do anything for the short. Especially when the price point is $55.
If they have a time forgot line, it should have included a battle saur or two.
I’m skeptical by the fact that Disney would choose Thinkway to create toys for Woody and Buzz rather than the Battlesaurs. Thinkway has been creating reissues since the first Toy Story and it isn’t a coincidence Mattel eventually had rights to create the toys by the time Toy Story 2 came around. Even today, Mattel managed to create figures for the Battlesaurs despite their small scale.
While we don’t understand Thinkway’s idea for creating toys, we can’t excuse their choice for characters to include.
I agree, I’d rather Thinkway not bother with the line at all if no other character wa going to be produced.
TBH I don’t really mind there not being a Trixie (please don’t kill me) because I’d only get her if I had the TSC Rex. Unfortunately, I don’t have one and it looks like I never will. In fact, the only film-scale Rex I have is the one from '95 my grandma gave to me. I really want a Stinky Pete because we’ve literally been waiting 15 years to get a film-scale Prospector that we can actually afford.
TSC Rex is indeed hard to find. However, Disney Store had a full size rex not too long ago, and its still sold at disneyworld when you get off the Buzz lightyear ride. Its not perfect, but its definitely a suitable replacement
Is that the one with the string that you pull and his mouth moves? I know there’s a Rex that you could buy at Disney Store and it had a pull-string (I’m not confusing it with Woody).
