Let me address this issue too. Like I said, I know these things because Im a picky collector, and I usually buy lots of a single item to end up with the best of the best.
I have all three waves of the Toy Story Collection Buzz box. Every Buzz does the same thing. I have NOT seen any difference in the toy itself. Only in the box. If you ask me, I would say your toy has a malfuction.
I read comments on youtube about Buzz head not moving anymore and stuff like that, but I think people are arriving to conclusions from possibly faulty toys. The quality control on the collector editiion has been terrible. Perhaps its a common problem they are speaking of, but I dont think thinkway reduced any gimmicks on these toys. Unless a newer version that Im not aware of came out in the middle of december, I say those toys are damaged and not a newer version.
I can only speak from August until the middle of December because thats when I last purchased a Buzz.
It is a common problem to get a Buzz without a moving head, and while we all assumed it was a defect, in a whole wave, somebody pointed out that on the instructions, it doesn’t mention a moving head anymore, which means that it was probably on purpose.
btw, never knew the different boxes exsisted, I have the third wave, and now I’m almost disappointed. I saw that you were complaining about the 4th one being innacurate, but did we ever see utility belt buzz in packaging? I’m pretty sure he was just in the display case, so there’s really no saying how accurate that one is. That was thinkway’s job to design that however they thought it might really look, really it could have been anything, in a whole new spaceship really…
I don’t know why anyone will come up with the conclusion of the moving head feature being removed. It was never announced and never proven. If your Buzz’s head isn’t moving then it’s a “bad” Buzz.

but when you think about it, it really doesnt make sense that in the toy story world they wouldnt play up the utility belt on the packaging. I guess its just as plausable the display box wasnt what it really came in.

I think it’s because they already had a model built for the box that Buzz came in that they just use the same model for all the boxes, but it would make more sense for the box to be advertising the belt as well.
Anyway, here are the newest additions to my collection:
Yes, it is disappointing that they don’t squeak, but they still look amazing and on-model so I just had to have them anyway. Only problem I had with mine (although you can’t tell from here) is that one of the aliens has some extra paint marks on it’s antenna, but none of the other ones do.
But yeah, I understand using the same model, but its very simple to change the texture if they wanted to. would take as little as 10 mins to slap on some logo or mention on the original box design.
Alot of channels have been talking about the TSC Potato Head and how fun it is, meaning it will be released soon. Even if there isn’t a release date yet it’s probably going to be released with Buzz #2, Jessie, and Bullseye.
