Does anyone have any tips for painting toys? i want to paint the belt buckle on my woody collection doll to match the one he has in the movie because i dont feel like going out to buy the 35 dollar version one that has the right belt buckle. Yes, i know the gold belt buckle is more detailed and better looking but as a huge woody fan, it isnt woody to me. here’s what i mean:
I want this
to look like this:
that picture is actually the prototype for the original toy. i don’t know why they had to go and change it. Anyways, its really bothering me so if anyone has any tips in painting it can you let me know. thanksss:)!! ohh and heres woody from the toy story movies:
yeahh i know i meant more of an orangish yellow. If you go around google looking at woody pictures you’ll see they all have an orangish yellow colour. It’s not pure gold though like the woody collection doll.
just curious, and I’m not as up on this as many of you (so I do value all your insight) , but do you think there will be another wave of toys after Jessie, Bullseye, Potato Head etc? Like…Hamm and maybe some of the other new toys? I’m just curious if there’s been any word on it (Still wanting Prospector but 99% sure its not happening). Thanks guys. yall are awesome to follow on here
No word or hinting of a third wave, but if I can speculate I think we’ll see another wave hit, or announced at least by the time Toy Story 3 is hits DVD/Blu-ray. It would be their last great opportunity to get one last wave of TSC toys and take advantage of the franchise being at the front of a lot of peoples minds.
Should a third wave happen I think we’ll see Hamm and the prospector for sure, and the rest could be new characters.
Awesome! I really hope so. it would be logical to release Prospector even though he won’t appear in the third film. To complete the ensemble, i would love to see BoPeep released…doll or lamp, just somehow represented, but I’m not sure if that’ll happen. It would be cool though! Thanks
I doubt they’d ever make a TSC Bo Peep because, no offense to anyway, but at least when it comes to merchandise I think Toy Story is more considered, and more popular with, boys. So I’m guessing Thinkway doesn’t see a market for a Bo Peep. The collectors market isn’t big enough and she’s not a big enough character for parents to spend around $50 on.
On the other hand, I think Thinkway is really missing a good number of sales by not making Zurg. I’d imagine a collection Zurg would sell really well.
I would think that there should be a third wave and fourth wave and possibly a fifth wave. Given the popularity of Pixar’s films, the merchandising wave could easily ride out into the Christmas season.
If they do not take advantage of such, I would think the Disney marketing team is really slipping. I know the economy will play into this as a factor, but the collector market, especially with Disney, is a strong market to sell to.
Pixar is an iconic generation of Disney’s arts and franchises for this generation. They absolutely should be taking advantage of this film to market such items, I would really be surprised if they did not.
That is a good point, and there is such a wealth of characters in the trilogy to choose from when making toys that they could keep the line going for awhile.
The problem is, at the rate that they’re going, there’s a good nine, almost ten month gap between waves, and if they were to continue that into a third, fourth, or even fifth wave, they would still be selling toys well into 2012.
As much as I would love for that to happen, so that we could see almost definitive versions of all the toys, I just don’t believe Thinkway values the line enough to see this happen. They’ve heard all of our complaints and yet continue to create toys that are lacking in some major area, which in turn reduces the already small market for these toys. If they were cheaper they could get the support of parents buying them for their kids, but they have cheaper versions for that purpose.
I agree with Kyle, that they should at least have a third wave to round out the last few major characters needing updates to coincide with the Blu-ray release of “3”, but even that may be too much to ask from Thinkway.
Yea, Bo Peep is highly unlikely for a TSC model. Zurg would most definitely be awesome in TSC form though…I would love the full size Zurg. He’d be awesome, and way better for display than the three small ones I have on my dresser…I don’t get why they never just made them all the same size in the first place.
I hope that they make all the main cast incluiding hamm slink bo mrs. potato head prospector zurg and wheezey. though dont think it will happen. then if not rom the collection maybe all the minor characters like rocky lenny mr mike mr spell ect. and some decent mutant toys poor guys no attention cause the way they look thought we were over that.
So has anyone e-mailed this Jenny Suze lady about the TSC Hamm figure?? Maybe someone should e-mail her and put her in a corner maybe even send her the pic of Hamm and be like “When will we see this Hamm???” lol
Its definitely the prototype, the same one we saw on the target website. We know the legs, at least at some point were able to pre pressed all the way in. this was back when his legs were still brown, and eyebrows were separated.
What we need now is evidence that this want a feature that was droped when they made the other design changes. so far all we can tell is that you can press it down at least somewhat, because his legs are not as long when in his packaging. but can we press them even further? Time will tell. be on the look out though for any recent pictures/video of the new design with them pressed in. you can tell the old design fom the new just by looking at his eyes.
