its that easy??
I don’t think so, because most of the time they didn’t need to use a ray tracer, an environment map would suffice, which doesn’t add too much to the render times.
The helmet retracts because it looks cool, and the reason it was usually retracted in TS2 was once he became enlightened, he knew it served no real purpose so he kept it down.
as for the question, I had to yank pretty hard on my older Buzz to get the rear half off, I assumed it was going to break but it didn’t. I couldn’t even try taking the one off my TSC one unless I already had a replacement handy. which I’d like ot get one of these days actually…the scuff marks it came with are starting to annoy me more these days.
Good enough answer for me Kyle
Maybe I’m missing something here, but I don’t see why Buzz would need his helmet removed. I think it’s fine already that you can leave it open.
Because he’s never been seen with it only half way open, outside of the toy story treats that is. unfortunately half way open is as far as real world physics will allow, so some would like to remove it to make it look like it does in the movie when retracted.

In TS Buzzs helmet is halfway open for the second half of the film
Well if you focus more on Buzz’s Space Man characterization mainly from the first, then not being able to remove his helmet completely isn’t such a bad thing. Sure you can’t make him look like he did in 2 or 3, but I think Buzz is a lot more funnier if he’s still deluded.
Plus, his interactive voice features coincide with the helmet down. Also, you can’t make him gasp for air if it was completely removed.
Does anyone own the original Thinkway Bo Peep and the TSC Woody? I’d love to see how they look together and how they compare in terms of scale if someone wouldn’t mind taking a few pics.
I’m looking at trying to get hold of Bo Peep but she is pretty rare and when she does come up on eBay she goes for a lot. I think my Woody deserves a love interest though! My Toy Story Collection is a meat-fest, so I need to introduce a few females!
Looking forward to adding Barbie and Ken when they come out too which should soften the male-dominated feel, Ken is camp as a row of tents!
I has some scuff marks on my Buzz figure as well. I have an acrylic plastic polish called Novus 1 and 2 which I used to buff out the scratches. It works great and gave it a glass like appearance. I HIGHLY recommend that you try it if you are having an issue with the scratches on the clear helmet area. You use the # 2 polish and then spray on the # 1 as a cleaner and anti-static layer. It gives the dome an optically clear look, which makes the Buzz figure look all the better.
Could someone in the USA please get me one of those Hamm’s and post it over? I will happily pay for such an awesome thing as I don’t even have a Disney Store where I live.

I wouldn’t mind doing that for you, but you would have to pay in full before I would go to purchase it. It’s pretty heavy, so I’m not sure how much shipping would be. I did get mine in a styrofoam cut out box that I could send it in, which should keep it pretty safe.
I also have a TSC Mr. Potato Head, new in a mint condition box, that I will sell for $55 + shipping.
Let me know.
Gimme a price and I’ll pay you on Friday. That’s when I get my allowance. Paypal yeah?
Just got off the phone with the Times Square Toys R Us. Ordered myself a Potato Head since I couldn’t find him at all in my state. I’m pretty excited now.

I sent you a PM.
Hey Folks, new here. Love the site. Took a long time for me to sign up, due to the security code.
Kyle had mentioned me here as I’m in the process of making a custom Slinky dog, all from scratch, and all built with prescision. Wont be ready for about a week. Also, will be doing eye kits for Mr. P for those looking for a set of eyes, and not conjoined Rocky Dennis eyes that are highly inaccurate. I had thought of doing other parts on him as well, but I think I’ll just do the eyes for folks as everything else on him looks pretty kickass. (the eyes will be done via a silicone mold, clay pour to recast the eyes and fix the seperation, remold in silicone, etc) Figure I would post that info, as others may get to it before me, and since posting things of seperate eyes initially, others have taken lead on other forums via word of mouth. So everyone helping is very cool.
Here is my collection so far (looking to get rid of the 95’ Bo Peep, Hamm, and Mr. Mike). Cant wait to get Lotso, the 1:1 ts3 Chunk, and to see if the Stretch is to scale or not. So far the picture in package looks awesome. The more Ts3 clips I watch or rewatch, the more I like Lotso. I love how he says “fo-eva” hahah.
(All 3 for $70 shipped. MUST GO TO A COLLECTOR (I do have the boxes for Hamm and Bo Peep, in near mint condition but they’re at my parents in IL ready to be sent here or to the buyer). I may have the Mike box, but I cant recall %100 that I do, so I wont over speak.
If I see this on ebay, I will be pissed, pm me or email
Just wanting to raise some dough to counteract the TSC RC, while at the same time giving someone a damn good deal. I bought all 3 of those personally in 95 and they’ve been well taken care of. I really dont want to part with these, but I also really dont want to pay 4 times the amount for RC when I have the funds to get it, so thats why the sale.)
Thanks

EDIT: SOLD BO PEEP AND MIC. To those wanting those, I am sorry. I went with first come, first serve. I had an enormous amount of pms for the two.
I would love to buy them from you, but unfortunately I have no money at the moment. ![]()
Oh, and someone asked about what I did to Woodys stand.
Just about threw it away, until I saw that it could be altered. Shortened the long post, and unscrewed the “neck holder” and threw that piece away. I then double braided some wire via a drill and needle nose pliers, and screwed that device onto the stand, propping woody up under his pits, and hidden. Now he stands like a real character, as opposed to looking like he is mid-hanging.
I was wondering what you did myself…it looks like its defying gravity. heh
would this be a better solution than say, just buying a real doll stand like the one Al uses?
also, that arm on the left, is there anything special holding it in place like that? mine would just fall limp if I tried that, bending at an akward angle, but yours looks as if it has more support somehow.
I cant wait to get my replacement Woody, my collection feels wierd without him…
To be honest, I hate all stands Woody would have, but a $2 doll stand at Michaels would indeed be better than the odd gimick stand with the TSC Woody.
The arms, I had started to loosen up, the joints, by pushing the cotton to either side of the stitch. Also unstitched the collar, as it was inaccurate but have yet to resew it over the vest, and the vest back to the body. Woody comes stitched wrong, and in order to get it better, you’ve got to “mess” with it.
His arms are damn stiff until you loosen up the cotton on the stitchs/elbows and armpits.
Actually the arms on mine werent stiff enough. er, the lower arms anyway. The upper arms were stiff (which is fine with me really).
