That’s still pretty good, though. Unless we get a squeaker one, it’ll be harder to get much more screen accurate than that.
By the way, does anyone have the texture for the Buzz Lightyear playing cards? I saw it on a Disney float, which makes me think Pixar still has it. Plus, anyone with a little printing experience could maybe create these.
Oreo-94. Anmal Lovin Ken is a bit rare- MIB anyway, but you can find a loose nude Ken with dark hair and modify the TS ALK outfit- shorten the shorts and shit sleeves and he should be ok.
Mine is from a random brown haired Ken and I found almost all the pieces (except the pants) to the 1991 Rock Star outfit

Wow! Thanks a lot Wampar/Tommy! I was going to quote you but I think it would be too much text. XD They look perfect! This will be very useful to my goal of creating all of Andy’s toys. I can’t thank you enough. XD It doesn’t seem too hard to customize them, and my dad is quite good at painting models and such so I will be able to get some help there. I just need to buy the little tikes needed on ebay to start. Thanks once again for the information!
Thanks for the kind words wampar. I used polymer clay wrapped around a plastic skittle. It’s only my second go at using it,so I’m fairly pleased with the result. He could have been a little fatter in the bottom but I ran out of clay. Well, I thought I had until I found my son with a pack in his bedroom trying to make his own Wheezy. Kids, clay and carpets do not mix. lol.
AWesome job on the Ken Omar! I think thats what I’m going to have to do if I decide to get a Ken, get one of the old ones, because they new style in the 2 pack has all completley different/wrong sculpts.
Thanks Tyler. Try typing 1983 Ken Brown into Ebay or Craigslist. The Animal Lovin Ken is pretty rare, and since Lee Unkrich wrote in an interview that people should buy the dolls, those dolls are even harder to find. I’m on the lookout for the shirt, shorts, ascot and loafers from Ken, but its hard to find loose, let alone MIB.
The 1991 Rock Star outfit was seen in the roulette scene “I’m not a girl’s toy! I’m not! Why does everyone keep saying that?” from the trailers. The blue bathrobe outfit and green/black tank top and shorts outfit are both modified from actual existing Ken outfits from the early 1990s. Ken himself has a box date of 1988.
The outfits seen in the film, besides Animal Lovin Ken’s stock outfit he came in.
Now that I think of it Ken did tell Barbie that he has “a whole room just for trying on clothes” and that’s why he’s seen with different clothes in all the clips. Shouldn’t be too much of a surprise (even for those of us who don’t play with Barbie and Ken dolls) cause that is what you do with them after all.
What’s going on with Bo Peep in the background? Are you customizing one?
Tyler, do you have any plans to do further Toy Story characters past Puck, Mr. P’s eyes, Slink, and Wheezy? If there’s any way you could do a Bo Peep, I’d definitely be interested!
I think it helps to keep an eye on Ebay. Animal Lovin Ken appears to be going for between $60 and $80 (US), but I managed to find a “buy it now” Animal Lovin Ken for $35 (US).
With the postage, it ended up being more expensive than Mattel’s Ken and Barbie two-pack, but Mattel’s TS3 Ken isn’t screen-accurate enough for me (although the previous suggestion about buying an old model Ken and tailoring the Mattel outfit is a good idea).
People should definitely keep an eye on ebay for Animal Lovin Ken and the original Great Shape Barbie. I happened to be lucky enough to be on ebay right when a Ken appeared with a buy it now of $15. And I’ve seen Barbie go for anywhere from $12-35, but most go for around $15-20 (I got mine for $17).
That is definitely too much, but just be patient, and you’ll find one at a reasonable price.
On a different note, I took a trip to the Salt Lake City area this weekend (where they still have a Disney Store), and picked up Hamm, and also found the Space Crane set.
It was kind of hilarious, because they had Hamm way up on a high shelf, almost at ceiling level in the store. The clerk had to get a ladder to get one down for me, and explained that they had to put them up there, because parents were letting their children play with them and quite a few had broken.
