Thanks, RoboDad!!! I love all this help, you guys!! ![]()
mine had shipped also
I was going to wait and post pics when I had everything done, but I decided to go ahead and share my two newest additions a little early. I got my puck from Tylerā¦and it is AMAZING. The detail in the aging of the paint is more than I had hoped for. I am very excited for him to finish his work on the āassembly lineā and get these to everyone else on the list. It is worth the wait.
I also finally painted my nesting eggs to make my own set of Troikas. The shape of the eggs was a bit skinnier than the film versions, so there had to be some minor changes, but the feel is exactly what I wanted.
Drying in my garage are the start of a shark and a PIXAR ball. They are proving to take longer than I dreamed because spray paint does not like to dry on rubber or plastic surfaces in that patented Florida humidityā¦so I have decided to give three or four days of dry time after every spray. The shark should be done on Friday, but the ball is going to be a couple of weeks. Maybe by then we will have Bullseye?
As usual Wampar, great work. I just love those troikas. A real great paint job on those. I canāt wait to receive my puck, he looks great.
If there was one thing I found annoying on my Mattel Jessie, it was the poor material used for the chaps. The lack of black edging and stitching didnāt help either. I decided to have a go at correcting them. I used some black plastic material and got sewing. I learnt two things.
1-I hate sewing
2- wear a thimble
it took ages but I think it was worth it. You canāt really see in the pics but it makes a big difference to her.
Just got my 83 Ken doll via eBay. As it arrived I felt my machismo leave via the same door. Itās not a girls toy. Really its not.
Absolutely love the troikas wampar! Kind of makes me want to create my own set because they look so cool! Very nice and accurate!
I absolutely LOVE those Troikas! Would love a set for myself! -Omar
Love the troikas. I think all thatās missing is the roly poly clown and Mr. Spell. The clown would be easy, all you need to do is weigh down the bottom somehow.
If you ever plan to do Mr. Spell, it might pose a challenge. A visual replica would be fairly easy, however, a functioning replica would be difficult. A modified Speak & Spell may do the trick, although, the voice is a little different.
EDIT: Forgot about Robot.
Forget the clown. Itās Robot you need. I know there isnāt a scale one, but maybe if you offer Tyler lots of cake and money heāll make one!
Cāmon, Snake looks lonelyā¦
Asside from the shark and the ball I have only four more items before it feels truly complete: Sheep with lamp, Mr. Spell, Robot, and the Rolly Clown. I have planned to make a non functioning Mr. Spell for a long time, just make a sticker for the display and have it read either āHa Ha Ha Haā or āAlās Toy Barnā as those are the two main things I remember him spelling. The sheep and lamp will be fairly easy, and are most likely going to be my next project after vacation season. The Rolly Clown should be fairly simple as well. Robot. The remaining problem is Robot. Even if I can sculpt a body out of sculpey or construct one with a cardboard interior structure, I have no idea how to handle the clear plastic head coveringā¦might just have to hunt for an object that is about the right shape and size that is clear.
Tyler and I have actually discussed Robot before. Unfortunately my fundage has recently dried up a bit and I donāt see that happening in the near future. Besides, he has his hands full right now with Pucks, Wheezy, and Slink. I will try and come up with something for Robot, and if it is a miserable failure perhaps I will revisit the Robot idea with Tyler again in the future if he has the time and isnāt competely burned out on Toy Story toy construction by then.
Theclaw- can you show a fullbody shot of Jessie with the chaps modified? The chaps are the main reason I have decided to stay with the TSC version, that and the more accurate part in Jessieās hair (but that should be fairly easy to fix as well.)
What you did looks great, and I want to see how it affects her overall look.
Thanks.
Okay. I found Jessie on the UK site, but how many $ is 35 Euros, and how do I calculate the shipping??
I found a commercial for Speak & Spell and Mr. Spell basically has the same tinny voice.

If itās UK shouldnāt it be in pounds? I used currency converter and 35 euros = 42 dollars.
I was playing around with paint last night using my pictures of the TSC and Mattel Jessie (As seen in the TSC thread). I tried putting the TSC Jessieās chaps on Mattel Jessie and it worked really well. It seems like it wouldnāt be terribly hard to do. If only there were some way to put the TSC Jessiāes hair on the Mattel Jessie - that would be like the perfect Jessieā¦
we do indeed still use the pound sterling ( thank god). £35 is $50 give or take.
lol, no need to tell me buddy. Iām Welsh. I was just wondering if she was talking about pounds or euros.
wampar, you should send a pic of your collection to Lee Unkrich. Itās so cool!
Lousy photo but gives you an idea of the look
The rear needs a little trimming still. The chaps should show white from the base to the knee really. I did it this way to give the material some structure.
I didnāt realise that the chaps could be removed from the tsc version before I did this mod. Sounds like a better idea though than the work I had to do.
Wait, so does the Mattel cost $42 or not?? If the Pounds make a difference from the Euros, Iām really sorry for my ignorance. ![]()
Maybe you should give us a link to the Jessie you want to buy so we can be more helpful.
