Okay, here she is. I think it’s the one everyone loves so much, but I’m not sure…

Also, I can’t figure out how to calculate shipping
I feel so dumb

Thank you for the kind words!
Your Troikas look AMAZING!!! Perfect!
Regarding the ball, are you using standard spray paint or the plastidip spray? Spray paint on vinyl/rubber will crack asap, and will most likely wont bond.
This would be the best on those types of balls. acehardware.com/product/inde … =340017559
Regarding the robot. In a couple of months or so if folks are still interested, I may start the project on my own, and see if there’s interest etc. The clear pieces are just like the other parts, molds. Only the “plastic” (resin) would be the crystal clear type, which can be cast into silicone molds just like standard urethane resin can. That would then be frosted via transluscent frosting spray, to get the desired surface, and assembled into the robot. As far as I would go electronic wise is lights, as I could get premade kits with that pattern. Which would be embedded post casting into the clear areas for the strobbing effect throughout those parts.
All possible.
I actually got ahold of Thinkway too, I’m sending a Hock out to them within the next few days. So far it’ll just be on display in their office, but I will keep in touch with them in hopes of employment, producing, etc.
Thanks for the tip. I have been using spray that claims to bond with plastic fairly easily, guess I didn’t think about plastic and rubber being significantly different…either way. as long as the paint actually dries I am not too concerned about cracking as the ball will be placed in a display and touched only when it is time to dust the shelf. But I will keep that product in mind when I am experimenting with a couple of other ideas I am kicking around.
Yup, that’s the one everyone loves and the price is in pounds. The total with shipping is 59.97 pounds which is about $88 US. You have to sign in to get the shipping amount.
Can I just ask - are you allowed to use Ebay? because you could get it significantly cheaper if you did:
cgi.ebay.co.uk/Disney-Pixar-Toy- … 51933c48c9
Only 40.43 pounds with shipping which is $59 US.
Ebay isn’t trust worthy, though. I’ve had several Ebay orders never even show up, so my Mom probably wouldn’t let me.
I just dont want you to have to redo anything though. The paint may appear to be dry, but oils may yet to have leeched through from the vinyl/rubber. If it’s a latex ball, it will only crack, not get oily, but still crack. Even the slightest touch will crack spray paint on latex, and even worse with spray paint on rubber vinyl.
Though, it may adhere all perfectly under your conditions, etc, and I may just be a worry-wart, haha.
I just found her on Ebay. Her shipping to US is over $33. Is that included in the price at the top?
She would be 95.30 Australian dollars with shipping - 79 US Dollars.
I just feel so lost…can this doll possibly be affordable?? Is she under $70 including ship anywhere??
When you finally have Robot, then you’ll have all the right toys to do a “One Eyed Bart” reenactment.
Me and Tyler were in talks of me making and sending him a 3d model to have printed with a 3D printer, then cast in plastic. Not sure if he still has me in mind or not, maybe he’s thought of a better way, Im not sure.
But the main thing preventing me from making the 3d model is lack of good reference. Anyone have pics from one of the art books or something for me to use? I need clear view of him from all angles, front, profile, etc.
I would be so impressed to see one of you actually make a real Robot toy since as far as I know the one in the film doesn’t really exist. I can imagine it being incredibly difficult though to put him together electronically with his tread feet and lights inside his head, but it would be really cool if he ever got made like that to see him in action.

The woody doll in this review says “somebody poisoned the waterhole.” I want it sooooo bad!
Yeah that’s the Mattel version - comes from the same line as the Mattel Jessie. They’re a UK/Australasia exclusive I believe. I saw a few at the store a couple of months ago…
Damn exclusives lol. Ebay time!
Wow. I didnt log into my yahoo email enough so my yahoo and my flickr were deactivated. All my collection pics from my flickr are gone. But heres some updated ones
Some good closeups here.
I’m impressed, it looks like the competition between Thinkway and Mattel have really pushed each other’s quality. Though, it looks like Mattel was just trying too hard to make it like the Toy Story Collection figure. Still, I think they had a good idea for the head sculp (though it probably shouldn’t be that squishy). It has most of the phrases, except the ‘posse’ one from the deleted scene.
Ha! Im the one who uploaded that video, I’m Gmcubed.
Anyway, I kinda need more than just that. I need ahead on view of his front, sides etc. a video like this would be good for checking my work as I go along, but not for using as a foundation to start with.
Hahaha, I commented on one I think a year or two ago
You’re gmcubed? Wow, you’ve got one of the best Toy Story/PIXAR accounts on YouTube. Those Toy Story Treats are probably what got me back into Toy Story in the first place.
Anyways, back on topic, Robot is used in a lot of the Toy Story Treats, like Scary Stories, Optical Illusion, and Guess Who? He also plays a decent role in Toy Story: Animated Storybook, but since all screenshots get corrupted, I can’t share anything.
Finally, a good reference would be the Burger King toy.

Jeff Pidgeon (Pixar employee/voice of Robot) made that article, and says it’s fairly accurate.
