I don’t know if this is the correct thread to post this in, but in my almost daily googling for Peas-in-a-Pod merchandise, I came across this:

The peas in a pod look alright I guess…would be nice to see what they look like inside the pod though.
That Mr. prickle pants though is laughably horrible. At this rate I guess Tyler will be making his own.

Buzz with pop out wings, light up wing-tips AND karate chop action. The wings seem longer too. Also has many TSC features like retractable helmet and he glows in the dark.
Sculpt not as nice as TSC version but still interesting.
I see they put Andy on his foot. they almost never do that. but yeah, the sculpt is really bad here. worst Ive seen in a while. and the wings look way too skinny in height.
At least this proves we can have a Buzz with Pop-out /light-up wings and Karate Chop action. The Disney Store Buzz even appears to have a wrist communicator you can flip open and I think the rockets light up too. I’m pretty impressed regardless of the sculpt. I’ll probably buy one some time in the future and do a comparison with TSC Buzz.
That buzz with karate arms has my interest. Thanks for this!
The Plush posted of Pricklepants looks like a quarter machine toy, seriously, I bet it is. I bet there will be a proper version released, but we’ll see. I’m starting one this weekend regardless, because I dont forsee a company doing them how I envision. Already started on Dolly. Will do 2 of her fro trade only.

I’m guessing they finally used the mechanism from the movie, meaning the wings were stored side-by-side as opposed to overlapping. I’m still wondering how they could do the karate chop action, although my guess is that there’s a v-shaped space in between the wings. TSC still had the overall better sculp (you can’t get better than the digital files).
We’re still far from the ‘perfect’ Buzz Lightyear, but this is a great step forward. I wanna see some reviews!

Do you guys reckon his ‘karate-chop’ arm is stuck in that position though? All of the photos have it in a raised position.
Ive played with that toy in the store. The karate arm can bend. But there is a big red button on his backside that you push to activate it.
It says push-button helment retraction, which to my knowledge has never been done before. Have you tried that?I wonder if it goes all the way into his torso (with a little bit still showing like in the movie). With that knob that sticks out to clamp onto his Star Command logo, it should work out even if they can’t make it go back yet (like the wings).
Here in about a year or so we’ll all be rebuying from Thinkway the new “ULTIMATE Buzz” which will finally incorporate EVERYTHINg as it’s shown it can be done.
NExt I’m sure Mattel will have an accurate rex with moving jaw, that will be made of hard plastic rather than vinyl.
EDIT: I wonder if the $24 price tag is supposed to be higher? They could’ve confused him for the even crappier old style thinkway buzz, which is also listed at $24 and looks to be what this “new” buzz’s body is from. Has all the same screw holes on the back, same cutaway sound area, etc. So if THAT model can have wings AND the action, so can the TSC Buzz, as that too uses elements of the 95. Compare them.
Its the half retracting like usual. Its a really horrible toy.
I think your being a bit too optimistic. I’d love that, no doubt. they can take my money if their able to deliver, but I don’t see them outdoing the current line for quite some time. if ever. in a year from now they wont have the marketing blitz advantage of TS3 and the blu rays have given them.
Speaking of which, I’ve sent numerous emails to Hasbro for about a month now asking about the Mr. Potato heads. Seems they’re keeping tight lipped on it until everyone buys the TSC version.
Are you talking about the regular ones we heard would be designed after the film?
yeah, the ones coming out in the fall listed as “film accurate from head to toe” etc
