Toy Story Replicas (No trading-related posts please)

The Essential Guide is great for reference material, and cool facts that you couldn’t have gotten by just watching the movie (map of Tri-County Area, cross-section of Pizza Planet, and the fact that Sid stole his milk crates).

Is there anyone who could please help me get a Disney Store Hamm and ship it to New Zealand? I would reimburse you for petrol and packaging. I really want to get one before the movie as I’m sure they will sell out.

thanks wampar your Troikas set looks great, if mine turns out half as good I will be pleased

I’ll ask about one for you tomorrow. I’m actually ordering me one from the store an hour away as I “need” Hamm this weekend for some photos.

He will sell out quick, and be like prospector.

I had a bit of a spend on eBay last week. so far this week I have received on import my yellow barrel of monkeys and Mr Mike. I’ve been trying to get a mike for some time. He works perfect, it’s just a shame that the seller neglected to say that the rear of him has yellowed from sitting in the sun. I’ve tried to clean him to no avail. I also got a troll which i’ve already painted and a fire truck. I’m painting the tikes at the mo. I’m just waiting on an etch a sketch to arrive. It’s been a good week.

If you want to take the yellowing out of Mr. Mike, this should help.

That’s awesome! Did you score a vintage (larger size) Etch-A-Sketch?

Vintage Etch A Sketch? How is that any different from a normal etch a sketch?

The text on the top changes, as well as the size, as mentioned.

Thanks for the tip, I’ll check it out.

As for etch, all I know is it’s a classic mattel etch. I never knew about the variations to be honest.

An etch a sketch is an etch a sketch. It’ really doesn’t make a difference which version you buy. For instance, I have my father’s old Ohio Art toy and it looks exactly the same as the one I just bought from Target, with slight variation on the text below. The screen is exactly the same size.

I believe the Toy Story branded one is smaller.

Awesome Troll! Were you inspired by Wampars troll?

Those look great painted like that. I was going to make a suit, but it honestly looks better painted.

Thanks Tyler, that would really be appreciated.

I know this is totally off topic, but I was wondering if it is at all possible to polish a slinky. I have my old vintage Slinky Dog back from Toy Story 2 and his spring is a bit dirtier than the ones I’ve seen at the store. Is this at all possible to do and if so any suggestions? I’d really appreciate some ideas.

Why would you want to? he wasn’t shinny in the movies. he had more of a matt finish.

try using jewelry polish, or anything that wont F up the metal. If that doesnt work, you could “repaint it” via Rub-N-Buff.

Thanks Guys! I have some metal jewelry polish and I was debating whether I should try that or rubbing alcohol. I always thought that Slinky had some kind of shine to his spring in the films (although as to what kind and how shiny I don’t know). I just really wanted him to look his best for when I see Toy Story 3.

Dont do alcohol, that could cause further damge.

Oh! I thought you meant Slink’s body, not the slinky itself. yeah, that should be nice and shinny.
