Actually, all of the ones I’ve seen at retail in the past year have been smaller than the vintage ones, including the version I bought in “retro” packaging from Amazon two months ago.
The only Lotso I’ve ever seen in Disney Stores is the non-Thinkway that is scented but has embroidered eyes. I haven’t seen or heard of this one being in any stores, but am still looking as I want to see him in person to compare with the TSC.
I feel like I have - the box is the exact same as the one I found at Wal-Mart, but the face looks different. I’m pretty sure the one I found has different eyes too. Weird.
The above pictrured Lotso is supposed to be the same size as the TSC lotso, just repacked in those boxes like the 12" Chunk, Sparks and Twitch.
There is also a 6" Lotso buddies, packaged in a similar box.

. I didn’t care too much for a talking Lotso. The only complaint I have is that it looks likes he’s got the angry face again on this one lol. But I can live with that! I’m gonna check my disney store and report back and I still have to check TRU for the Bullseye members have been spotting
I thought that a company person said the cheaper Lotso would actually be smaller.
That would have to be a huuuuge box to fit Lotso if he was the same size as the TSC Lotso…
There is a smaller one yes, but its not that one. He uses the same open front packaging as the new 12" line from Thinkway, and Chunks box is bigger than Twitch, which I’m sure lotsos is bigger than Chunks. The boxes look similar design wise, but are made to cater to the characters size.
He’s probably only $10 or $20 less than the TSC Lotso, but thats worth it if you do not want the electronics.
Also, for the longest time I thought Lotso’s cane was a tinkertoy, but its actually common wood shapes like dowels. A thicker one for the top, and thinner for the base, stained etc.
Anyone made one for theirs?

In the movie though, the final design looks like two chopped dowels forming a T
I think the design above makes more sense. A piece if an old toy put to good use seems to fit the whole ts ethos.
It does indeed, I like the tinkertoy better than the other cane.
I may be wrong, but I think the cane in the movie is a mallet from a preschool toy. You know, the kind where kids pound pegs into holes on a board, then flip it over and pound them the other way.
Thats what was thinking of! I couldnt think of the acutal toy though, I bet thats exactly what it is.
The one in the movie has a red handle, but this one looks to be about the right size (found it on Amazon.com using the search words “preschool hammer peg”):

Chuckles is seen from all angles at different points in the movie, and I took huge mental notes of his backside so he will be my next replica.
Whats hilarious is, on wikipedia, the picture of Chuckles I took is on there as his official pic, hahahah. I didnt upload it, but it just goes to show you how crappy wikipedia is. I took that with my cell in barnes and noble, and now its on some fact site, hahaha. Its just weird I guess. I better write another sloppy run off paragraph, oh nevermind I just did.

I’ve started working on the lable for the Big One firework. Hopefully I’ll have it online by tomorrow.
