(first time using the program, pepekura, to produce a lifesized prop out of paper, resin is soaked into the paper, and then it is bondod smooth, etc and molded in silicone)
Now I’m on the search for one of the toy sharks posted above, and will give it a repaint, if needed, and also add on “cartoony” eyes, via balls of sculpey.
Edit: Those Buzz toys are now only $25 at most Targets, the Ulitmate Buzz, THAT I could justify buying for a kid, as that price is valid for what the toy does
Tyler, im not saying for you to do this, this is just a question of curiosity. say you did find the janie doll, would you be capable of making an entire pteradactyl body just based off of the head?
Yes I can, scaled from the head etc. Sort of like working from 3d blueprints, on same way, haha.
Also, your Avatar is a little guy I’m wanting to make for sure sometime real soon. Like your Avatar shows, he looks awesome on his on, and for sure with Mr. P.
Edit: I dont know why I capitalized the A in avatar, haha, damn you James Cameron.
I always thought of it as a happy meal toy or something with a sports theme. there were probably hockey sticks, baseballs, etc with arms and legs too that served no purpose than looking cool and being posable.
By the way, I’m thinking of doing a youtube video review on of sorts when I’m able to get Tyler’s Slinkydog. Ive avoided video reviews of a lot of things because in general there are plenty of others out there already who have beaten me to the punch. But with a custom like slink, or potato head when I finish him there will be less, if any competition.
I believe Mattel mad e a toy story shark a few years back. It came in their inch line of figures for toy story and beyond. I have it somewhere…he squirted water. He was accurate in size as well.
That sounds about right, I just thought he looked much smaller in the package. Also, I think this is the first time Ive seen his tail, in the movies it was always off screen.
How big is that Shark in the Woody pack? Looks really cool, but maybe a bit small than what appears on screen (scaled to woodys hat). Those plastic sharks used to be pretty common before Toy Story, and still are somewhat. I know the shops on the beach here carry some, but not as accurate as the one the fella posted where they’re all in a shelf display.
Regardless, I didnt know they ever made a shark in any scale, so that is very cool news. Thanks for posting guys, I love finding new stuff out.
