Sweet idea! Are you just going to take the best features from both, or will you go the extra mile and add some? The helmet could probably be made to go all the way back. If you’d like any blueprints or anything, I have a lot of Pixar steches for Buzz’s construction.
just got my hamm in the mail today. hes awesome except hes got little blue paint marks all over him. im trying to avoid sending them him back for an exchange. any ideas on how to remove tghe paint scratches without his original paint? (wasnt thinking and as soon as i got him tried using nail polish remover and faded under his chin)
Does anyone have the pattern for Buzz’s wrist communicator? I got an old chrome Buzz, who was lacking the sticker (no idea if he had it to begin with), and I want to give him one. I tried PhotoShopping one, but it just wasn’t quite right.
Wow! That is a collection to envy! I have more than that in Buzz and Woodys probably, but I don’t have most of those characters, like Etch, the egg guys, the wheel thing (forget what it’s called)…
Thanks for the compliments, Tyler…but I think Toy Story is pretty much it for me. After this project is done, I think my creative outlets will return to making a Halloween Costume and drawing a Chirstmas Card…until the Toy Story project inspired me, those were the only two times in the past five or six years that I have made much of anything.
Bye Tyler, I know we are all really going to miss seeing your posts here. You’ve been a great source of information for the entire community here, but i guess it’s time to pass the torch on to Kyle and Wampar.
Was off the last two days, and was very busy with Toy Story Goodness. I started a main body for Mr. Spell, but I am not happy with it yet, hope I don’t have to start over. But here is what I did complete (and stick around, I saved the best for last in this post.)
I finally broke down and got a vintage Chatter Phone. I couldn’t see a huge difference from photos, but everyone is right. In person they are night and day. Here is a picture of them together, the vintage on the left, and the current reproduction on the right.
I found the new sculpt of Ken. Like so many others I have read, there was only one in my store, stuck behind a bunch of the 90210 sculpt. I took the barbie and tried painting her face. I couldn’t get her screen accurate, but I did manage to make her look less whorish. I replaced the head on my vintage Gret Shape Barbie…those bangs are very important to the feel of the character. I then took new Ken and put him in the vintage Animal Lovin Ken clothes.
And finally, best for last, I finished my Bo Peep Sheep and lamp. I had to make a few changes for it to all work, but I am ecstatic about how it turned out. And for the record: I attached a doll stand to the base so Bo will not fall off the side.
