I watched Puss In Boots last night.
Not me.
I believe that a lot of the play is lost when not in original French (take the last line of the film, for instance).
Besides, Ferrer’s acting was good, but that was the only standout I see from the 50’s version. I think the 90’s is pretty much flawless.
I understand, I did think the '90’s one was good, and probably a better film, but I just personally preferred the '50’s one.
I have NEVER heard of that movie(s). You win in the obscurity department.

Both Cyranos were nominated as Best Actors at the Oscars, and the films, the play and the real-life character are somewhat famous.
