LQstudiesPixar: I had a feeling you were going for a pun like that. Reminded me of Minnie’s “For the love of Chrysler” oath after the credits in Cars.
^^Yes! That’s exactly what I was thinking! . Heh, kinda sounded like Mater there, too.
Did Mater say “for the love of Chrysler” too? Or is it more of his way of bowlderising oaths like “Dadgum”?
Oh, sorry TDIT. I meant that there’s a scene in the second movie where Mater literally says “Hey, that’s exactly what I was thinking!” and I think it was used in a commercial too. It’s not a special line but I just think the way he says it is funny.
I don’t know if anyone’s seen this, but it’s a cool little featurette with Rich Moore talking about Wreck-It Ralph. Looks like they had a lot of fun designing the game worlds, especially Sugar Rush!

Disney is the WORST with trailers. The Winnie the Pooh one was great, but WIR and Tangled had horrible trailers.
^Oh, really? The first Wreck-It Ralph trailer was what hyped me for it in the first place, and I thought the second trailer was fine, too. Then again, I may have just been attracted to the whole concept. Plus colorful films always draw my attention, and visually this movie was pure eye candy ( <3 ). I guess I can say Tangled could have had better trailers, more sincere I should say. And yes, that Winnie the Pooh trailer was awesome - very nostalgic.
Yes the Nostalgia factor worked well for Winnie the Pooh.
I don’t know. It may be just me, but the trailers I saw on TV were all the dirty jokes. Which I’m not a fan of. Plus I’m not a huge fan of video games, so I didn’t really get into the trailer as much as other people would.
Oh, that makes sense. I didn’t exactly love the jokes from the trailers either nor am I in love with video games. But at that point, I thought “Eh, John Lasseter and the creators of Tangled and Winnie the Pooh are behind it. I’m gonna like it anyway,”…but I didn’t like it. I loved it!
Personally, I thought the trailers were pretty good! But then again, trailers for films I end up loving rarely bug me. Of course, I got those not-even-in-the-film trailer songs stuck in my head like glue, but that’s probably my only complaint, really.
At least these trailers weren’t as bad as the Tangled ones.
The Annies picking WIR despite all the policically correct love surrounding Brave almost makes up for the WALL-E incident.
Almost.
Talking about trailers, I have plans to make a fan-made one like I’ve done with Wall-E, when it comes out on home video next month. I have a good idea of some nice “trailer-style” songs to use.
Haha, what a scandal that year was. Despite my love for Kung Fu Panda, it was the “Slumdog Millionaire” of the Annies then.
Sounds great TDIT, I’ll definitely watch it!
Heehee, that’s if I eventually sit my *** down and do it!
On a semi-related note, I’m excited that the next PPMN will be WIR!
Yes same here, I think that it’s a good choice! Especially since it’s Awards season and all.
I’m really angry this movie lost to Brave. This was probably one the best movies disney has put out recently and the Academy decides to be predictable and give it to Pixar yet again.
I’m not angry. I was rooting for WIR, but I still extend congratulations to Disney and Pixar on their win with Brave.
I still haven’t seen it! When does it come out on DVD?
^It should be out by next week in the States, IV! I bet you’ll like it, if not love it!
Anyway, concerning the Oscars, I was kinda surprised Brave won, considering how much people love WIR. But I certainly wasn’t disappointed! I was rooting for them both! And no matter what the awards say, Ralph and Merida are both “adorable winners” in my book! And I assume you guys have heard that Paperman won the best animated short, so both Disney and Pixar got a win this year!
^I love that attitude! So much positive and accepting from some other ones I’ve seen.
But I on the other hand, was not surprised by Brave’s win at all.
