So it’s time I hold true to my claim. The spoiler below is a reference that you might have more fun finding yourself, so it’s tagged for you. [spoil]While it’s not on the right, the TRON socket DOES exist. It’s at the scene when Ralph is in the Hero’s Duty suit headed towards Hero’s Duty. And the big reveal:
How dare you say that about Ms Hathaway, Steven Col-burt! Although, that Jackman jibe was pretty funny… I gotta admit.
Thanks for sharing, EJE, it worked fine on my end! I had a feeling he was shooting the “Ralph was robbed” line out the side of his mouth as an ad-lib. And IV, the digs at Argo and Michelle Obama are satirical, from my understanding of the few eps of Colbert I’ve seen, he’s a liberal pretending to be a conservative.
What did he say about Hathaway again? Was it the dress joke?
Yeah the Stephen Colbert character is a clueless conservative, in reality I believe he’s a registered democrat. He developed the conservative persona while he was a correspondent on the Daily Show.
In fact, his sister is running for Congress! Also, like Jon Stewart and south Park, everyone is fair game on the Colbert Report. They call out hipocracies both sides of the aisle.

Well that’s good at least. I am more likely to hear out a person’s opinion if they have taken both sides into consideration.

That’s a great catch, Mygames19! Basically, I love any film that puts so much attention to detail in the film, such as this one! I wouldn’t be surprised if there are more. So far, I know there’s the “Paperman” paper, and Tiny the dinosaur from Meet the Robinsons is also in there. Who knows who or what else is in there!
So I really love this movie! I’ll have to buy it next time I babysit.
^It’s awesome, right, IV?! I want to get it too, but of course the version I want is $30 right now… I hope this doesn’t end up the way Tangled did where it took me two years since seeing the movie to get the version I wanted for a decent price! You guys should know by now that I’m a big bonus feature nerd
I actually bought Tangled the day it came out. Granted, I didn’t have a Blu-Ray player at the time. My mom got me from school, and took me to walmart so i could get it $5 off. It was a good day.
I prefer to get the bonus features and that stuff, but I get so impatient. I love re-watching the movies.
I sure wish I could go out and buy it today, but everyone in the house is gone and I can’t drive.
I really should be saving my money. I also want to buy Lincoln and Les Mis. I’ll probably wait a few months and get one of them, I’m in no rush really.
What did he say about Hathaway again? Was it the dress joke?
Yeah and he threw a dig at Hugh Jackman too, another of my favourite actors.
The impression I get from Stewart is he and his character are both liberals? I like Colbert Report a bit more than the Daily Show from the odd episodes I catch on late-night TV, but they and South Park are great satirical commentaries on American society. Definitely more entertaining than watching Fox, CNBC, CNN, whathaveyou.
I am more likely to hear out a person’s opinion if they have taken both sides into consideration.
Too few people are willing to do this nowadays!
Tiny the dinosaur from Meet the Robinsons is also in there
I’m not sure if it’s an exact cameo (ie the same character model), some people say it isn’t and it’s just a random T-rex (I looked out for Tiny on my second cinema watch and it does look like him, though!).

So you Wreckers are prob aware that Ralph is making his smashing debut on home video today? Coincidentally, Tomb Raider (a reboot to the franchise I’ve been looking forward to) is out on videogame consoles, also today, and I can’t help thinking of Ralphie’s reply to the Surge Protector when the latter asks his name.
I’ll probably get Lara’s Big Adventure this weekend since I know it’s already out at my local gamestores. I’m not sure about Ralph’s (equally) Big Adventure, I checked with a Gramaphone (a home-entertainment chain) store attendant last week after watching Lincoln and Flight with a friend and the attendant didn’t know whether Ralph would be out this week (I was surprised she wasn’t aware of release dates).
So after blowing possibly $150 on the collector’s edition for Tomb Raider this weekend and saving roughly the same figure for Bioshock Infinite’s collector’s edition coming out at the end of this month, I probably won’t have much left for Blu-Ray purchases.
But no hurry, though! There’s always, um, Blu-Ray torrent rips to tide me by (I will get Ralph on Blu-Ray eventually, I want to watch the special features). And I’m also saving to get The Art Of book, which to my knowledge, can’t be pirated (unless some huge fan decides to scan the pages!).
Yeah and he threw a dig at Hugh Jackman too, another of my favourite actors.

It’s all in good humer!
Stewart makes fun of anyone and everyone who is an idiot, American or not. But generally, as of lately, the Republican party has been easy, easy targets. So the liberal vibe is defintely present. And I agree, South Park doesn’t get enough credit. It’s early years were very low humor, but by the time it’s feature came out the show matured and is brilliant satire, and like Dailiy Show and Colbert is very informative. Stewert and Colbert get credit for this, South Park doesn’t, which is sad.
ANYWAY back to topic, I suppose. I want this DVD, but as I said early I can wait!
Me gots it now!
I had the best time watching this film for the second time. Great movie, I even had to wonder if it’s up there with Toy Story 1 & 2. It is, but it doesn’t go past them (on the throne at my house), and I also love many other films as much as those ones, but still. This movie’s just too darn original and funny. Never would have thought up this movie in a million years, but now I can’t picture my life without it. Thanks, everyone at Disney who made this movie possible.
Okeyday, folks, I could use your help with something that could result in the possibility of three of us owning the 5-disc WIR blu-ray…
Animation Magazine always has a little contest to win a blu-ray/DVD copy of a recent animated release. Right now, they’re giving away the most deluxe version of Ralph available! I was all like “YayYayYayYayYayyy!!”, but there’s one hitch: you have to answer a trivia question correctly to be registered for a chance to win. Being that I don’t own it yet, I have no idea what the answer is! Here’s the link, and if anyone here knows what it could be, let us all know, and just maybe a few of us could win! animationmagazine.net/contest/
I actually don’t know what the answer to the trivia question is!
It’s A. I’m positive.
Cool, I’ll enter then!
Thanks for the heads-up, K9Girl! I had a feeling it was A. Good luck to anyone who enters I do hope this didn’t come off like spam or something… just thought this would be a nice chance for those of us who still want to get our hands on a copy!
Konami code is correct, guys. Good luck to anyone who decides to enter!
I happen to own that deluxe edition… it was the very last one Wal-Mart had when I went to get it, and I snatched it up before anyone else could! I didn’t pay that much for it though, for some reason!
It looks stunning on Blu-ray. O We have a 3D TV, but no 3D glasses yet, so I won’t be able to watch it (or any of our other 3D-capable movies) yet, unfortunately! I’ve still yet to see what the picture quality is like for 3D, save for the few times I got to try out the glasses at Sears.
little chef
Gah! I tried to watch it in 3D today, but it kept messing up! This is my only Disney film to do that as Meet the Robinsons, Bolt, and Tangled all played perfectly and the 3D effect was very good. This is my first Disney film to mess up, and even the end Disney logo on Paperman was looping. All of my Pixar films except Finding Nemo mess up in 3D too, although luckily Toy Story and Toy Story 2 can make it to the end if you just let the 3 or so glitches pass.
However, the Blu-Ray features are very good. Unfortunately, there’s no commentary as there hasn’t been with most of the recent ones. As long as you get the Blu-Ray combo pack, though, you’ll have plenty of bonus features to watch, and they are all very good to watch. If not, the DVD of the movie with Paperman is still highly recommended.
little_chef and LQstudiesPixar:
I wanna buy it!
Here’s a great review by my namesake. He tells you how the flick is perfect in figuring out if your movie date is too young for you.
Also, not sure if this has been mentioned before, but Hypable reports there may be a sequel in which we get to see other Ralphs. I think pop-culture films like Cars and Toy Story have the potential for sequels to include more characters from the “world” to spot, although a trilogy should be the max. Hopefully they’ll finally rope in Nintendo to give Mario a cameo.
FUN FACT: If Wreck-It Ralph 2 is made for cinemas, it’ll be the first Disney animated theatrical sequel since the 1990 film The Rescuers Down Under.
FUN FACT 2: The videogame companies were very specific in the depiction of their copyrighted characters. “There’s a scene in which Bowser drinks a cup of coffee, and they were very specific about how Bowser would drink coffee,” said producer Clark Spencer in an interview with Total Film. “The other thing that was fascinating to me was that all of the companies know how tall their characters are. There was lots of conversation about which character would be the biggest character in that Bad Anon scene. Even to the specifics of centimeters.
“We had a scene where we wanted the rings to come out of Sonic, and SEGA said the only way that happens is if he falls over, and we didn’t have him fall over in the scene, so we actually went back and re-animated it.”
Interestingly enough, I did see that Toys R Us was giving away a digital issue of a new WIR magazine, which seems to be in the vein of their other Disney kids’ magazines such as Cars Magazine and Disney Princess Magazine, with purchase of the digital version from their online movie store. All of Disney’s magazines in this area are made off of their franchises… so I have this feeling that perhaps Ralph and the gang’s adventures aren’t ending yet! And I think there’s no way they would release a sequel and not make it theatrical; after all, I think Disney needs to get rid of that “bad Disney sequel” rap they seem to have. Especially when I like all of the animated sequels of theirs I’ve seen. So yay if Ralph is making a comeback!
