In more "delay" news, The Pixar Blog has gotten a tip that the Monsters, Inc. Blu-ray release, planned for this Spring, has been pushed up all the way to the Spring of 2010 (some are reporting November ’09)!!
This shocking news was discovered via a few sites such as HDRoom as well as an e-mail from Amazon.com.
Retailers have been getting rid of promotions and pre-orders of the release due to orders from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, which is surprising since the news of this particular Blu-ray has been circulating quite a bit. This brings up the question: why? I got no comment from Disney or Pixar, maybe they want to do this very quietly. Could it be a glitch, a new short planned for the release, a new promotion, maybe they wanted the Blu-ay market to grow some more, or did marketing think that Monsters would take business away from Bug’s, we’ll have to wait ‘til next year to find out…
Apparently, the May 19th release date for the A Bug’s Life Blu-ray has not been changed. Learn more about the two releases here and enjoy the cover art, one of which we won’t see in a long time.

Real reason: $$$$$$. 1 Blu-Ray per year = More Sales per flick.
I’m not fretting at all since the regular release of Monsters, Inc. is more than enough for me, and I don’t have a Blu-Ray player or drive, anyway.
We’re getting Monsters Inc. on Blu-ray May 20th from Amazon Japan.
