'The Incredibles: Family Matters', 'Cars: The Rookie' & More Pixar Comics Details Revealed…

Cars News The Incredibles

As the March release date for the debut Disney•Pixar Comics grows closer, more anticipation is building up through sites such as CBR News.

BOOM! writer/editor-in-chief Mark Waid talks to Comic Book Resources about the new, ‘The Incredibles: Family Matters’ comic. The article includes pictures and details of some new characters exclusive to the comics like a new villain called Futurion and Edna Mode’s cousin Doc Sunbright. The arch will have four standalone books which form one complete story that is being heavily supervised by Disney and Pixar.

Here’s what BOOM! editor, Paul Morrisey, had to say:
"We’re also getting a huge assist from Disney and Pixar. They go over every story pitch, making sure that each concept meets their high standards. "

Also coming in March is Cars: The Rookie, a story that follows Lightning McQueen’s origin story. Coming soon we’ll see Toy Story: The Mysterious Stranger and Monsters, Inc. comics, followed later on by Finding Nemo and WALL•E adaptations.

Speaking of adaptations:
"[Pixar] actually love[s] seeing their characters depicted in new ways—just as long as we capture their essence and heart. So far, the changes have been minimal. If we get a certain characterization wrong, they’ll flag it. If a color scheme is off, they’ll let us know."

I’m confident in these comics, but the moment of truth is two months away. Until then, enjoy these articles from Comic Book Resources.
