Grammy Awards nominations have just been announced and they include the soundtrack to Pete Docter’s latest flick!
Michael Giacchino has a lot to celebrate this year; coming right off the heels of his Annie nomination he’s also been nominated for three golden gramophones! His scores for both Up and Star Trek are in the running for the Best Score Soundtrack category. Also, two majestic tracks from Pixar’s 2009 hit are up for awards in the Composing/Arranging field.
Below you’ll find the Up Soundtrack’s three nominations as they are officially described:
Best Score Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television, Or Other Visual Media: Up — Michael Giacchino, composer — Walt Disney Records
Best Instrumental Composition: Married Life (From Up) — Michael Giacchino, composer — Track from: Up — Soundtrack — Walt Disney Records
Best Instrumental Arrangement: Up With End Credits (From Up) — Michael Giacchino, arranger — Track from: Up — Soundtrack — Walt Disney Records
Of note, the nominees for the Grammy’s highest honor, Record of the Year, are: Halo by Beyonce, I Gotta Feeling by The Black Eyed Peas, Use Somebody by Kings Of Leon, Poker Face by Lady Gaga, and You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift.
