DisneyStore.com has made Toy Story and Toy Story 2 on Blu-ray available for pre-order serving as an unexpected official announcement for the highly anticipated releases!
Although the Blu-ray versions of these Pixar classics were inevitable, we had no real information pertaining to each release until now. Currently, we know that they’ll both be in stores on March 23rd, 2010, so mark your calendars!
No press release has been made available as of now, but the Disney Store’s description serves in place for the time being. The discs (Blu-ray + DVD combo) are packed with exciting extras! Check out what we know below, speculation in italics:

Of course, all of the material from the DVD releases will also be included! Speaking of, Special Edition DVDs of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 will also be released on the same date with many of the same Blu-ray features included, replacing the now retired DVDs from 2005.
Expect more details on these upcoming releases, including expanded specs. on the new featurettes, when an official press release drops. For now, you can pre-order your own copy, each retailing for $29.99 on Blu-ray and $21.99 on DVD!

Wooooo! Times like this where I become especially jealous of you Blu-Ray owners. That’s great news though that they’ll be coming earlier than a lot of us expected. Those special features interest me — any chance some of them, in their cut or full form, might surface upon the internet some day…? ;D
In particular, the Joe Ranft dedication and Paths to Pixar features sound interesting.

I hope both movies have roundtable discussions. Those were my favorite features on the A Bugs Life and Monsters Inc. Blu-ray releases.
I hope Amazon does a Blu-Ray deal like they did with UP/MI to get these two cheaper.
