Well the estimate numbers are in for the opening weekend….
$47,227,000
That brings Ratatouille in above A Bug’s Life for opening weekends. Not to fear all, it’s not the end of the world as some of you may predict. For example, Shrek opened with $42 million, and people loved it, and it’s box office grossings caused Dreamworks to make, dare I say, Shrek 2! It will all turn out good. Have a good day!

Excellent, superb, marvelous, outstanding, impressive, incredible, just plain awesome are all words/phrases I’d use to describe the film. Best. Pixar. Film. Ever.
You forgot to say it was the number one film in America. Low numbers don’t mean low performance.
I saw Ratatouille today, and it was frickin’ AWESOME!!
it was AMAZING!! I totally agree with Mike Thompson!!
i mean.. except for it being the Best Pixar film ever. I’m not sure, it might be the best for me, but it’s so hard to choose that I won’t ever say what my #1 favorite is! i think…
anyways, it was absolutely amazing, and I am so glad that I watched it! I’m so happy!!!
Saw the film and I LOVED it!
Anyways, Luxo Jr., when it get internationally released can you report how the film does in both the US and around the World, as you did with Cars?? (Got a list at home and I’m keeping stats!)
As always, your site makes me come back for more!

Ratatouille, I believe, is French for “word of mouth will propel this baby.”
My two year old, my 55 year old in-laws, and my 30something self and wife were all mesmerized.
“How was my weekend? Let me tell you…”
I saw Ratatouille last friday and it was AMAZING!!
I love Ratatouille. It’s one of the best film of Pixar. A really master piece.
I agree with Mike Thompson too.
Just couldn’t help thinking that B.O. in British English usage usually stands for Body Odour, which seems kind of funny given the Box Office comments elsewhere.
No BO, no sweat!
Another nice difference in English usage is Oversight, in Britain this is used not as in Supervision but as in To overlook, to miss.
Those who only see the opening weekend Box Office are the Nearsighted.
I must have told more than 20 co-workers to go see Ratatouille. One of them (about 50 yrs old) came by today to say he went with his wife and they absolutely loved this film.. I gotta end this sentence and go tell more people to go see it..
Bomb Voyage is in Ratatouille!! He’s a mime in one of the street scenes.

I was thinking that too. I was going to change it to Box Office but it takes up too much headline space. I guess it’s quite fitting though. Sort of a pun.
I don’t know about best Pixar film ever, “The Incredibles” will be a tough act to top, but it is another movie that requires superlatives to properly describe. It sits very well among such giant cinematic achievements as “The Incredibles” and “Monsters Inc.”
It brings animated movies to new heights of drama. Its full of unexpected twists and new ideas. Ratatouille exemplifies fresh thinking.
anonymous (#2) – Iwas going to mention that! Hopefully we can have a post for people to add other easter eggs and hidden jokes that they’ve found.
whoops! I meant anonymous #3.
(At least for now)
Luxo Jr., satisfy your “Ratatouille Experience” thirst with this!
“Lifted” Is on iTunes! WOOOO BABY!!
I highly recomend buying it! I loved it so very much!
(oh yeah, and RATAOUILLE IS AMAZING!!!)
OK. Thanks! I still haven’t seen it yet, and I’m MAD that I still haven’t seen it yet, and I KNOW it’s going to be so awesome! Anyway, I love your blog, and it’s very helpful. It even had a Wikipedia article for a while! Anyway, thanks, and please check out my blog sometime. Thanks! Pixar rocks!
Thru July 4th, Ratatouille up to 72.7 mill.

Thanks Billy!
Here in the States Ratatouille is facing tough competition from a sci-fi movie and another action movie. I talked to a few couples that were going to see the other movies, they have not heard about Ratatouille or that is targeted at adults through its clever humor! Whatever the box office number say, this is one superb movie..
